The fact that you were able to get a much better deal tells me to just wait a little longer. Cheers

that was a good deal, but it only came around bc the model was upgraded.
if i needed an excellent circ nowand wanted to try that circ then that $100ish price is the best you will see on an excellent circ for some time. only exception being the 2x makita circ clearance which is floating around still and not posted much here. i assume makita is rolling out bigger better batteries soon too but i also assumed they would have already had them by now so who knows

Damn... I’ve been eyeing that axe for a while, but just couldn’t bring myself to spend forty bucks for it. Make a good walker whacker, Rick Grimes approved. What location did you see this?

Saw that sign on an empty Estwing Ax rack. There were a few more empty racks without signs, so something was cleared out of those.

The Estwing 25 oz. California Framing Hammer was down to 14.00.

The 24 oz. Solid Steel Ball-Peen Hammer was around $23+ IIRC. This is about 20% off, and there were a few more Estwings marked down about the same.

This HD doesn't have the Milwaukee hammers out yet, so they'll surely go on these racks.

And yet Home Depot decided to keep many of them in stock well before its due time. May be those were Black Friday specific-SKU's, and therefore had a finite time on the shelves. Looks like I should wait on a Black Friday 2732 Kit and purchase after the holidays, get rid of the batteries and call it a sealed deal, but then again, there is no guarantee that such a thing will be available after the holidays

I just can't stand the number of videos showing how the 2731 is susceptible to failing and overheating. Have yet to warranty anything. We should start a Milwaukee Power Tool PASS/FAIL Thread.

I have a funny feeling that HD and Milwaukee are going to give a free battery with the Circular Saw after October 25, as part of a new promotion between October 25 and days leading up to Thanksgiving. That $111 clearance price isn't going anywhere and Brickseek is giving faulty clearance information showing '0' in stock, when I clearly saw '6' the other day tucked neatly on the clearance rack attracting nobody.

Home Depot has a 90 day return policy. If you don’t need the 2731 immediately you could still buy it at the $111 price and sit on it through the end of the year to wait out the deals. If a better deal comes up then just return it, if not you got it for $111.

I recently did this with the M18 3/8” impact. I purchased it back in July, hadn’t used it, then changed my mind and returned it when I saw the M12 stubby released. It’s probably the only reason to buy a tool from HD.

Well, that's a good suggestion, and BF is right around the corner. :bounce:

Gone around here before 06 pricing. Has anyone noticed pca and handheld do not always tell the right price. Torch kit for instance show penny at store with none. Show $75.03 at others and when You get there they are full price. All the others at full price. Same thing on some showerheads.

Sorry if this isn’t the place for this. Been a long time lurker and just purchased a home so I’m keeping a strong eye on this thread. Lol. It seems to me the clearance section at my store is awful. Is there any trick to finding what is on special or does it just take stopping in periodically and checking out what’s there.

Is there a certain time of month Home Depot releases their clearance stuff? Any input would be appreciated. I saw a few deals in here and then went to my store and had no luck finding them or they weren’t on sale in that particular store.

Nothing fixed, different departments at different times, district and store level clearances vary, look for yellow tags and things in the rafters and read the first few pages of this thread.

this sounds like a 'different upc' issue.
sometimes they also re-use skus after they change the upcs
rare circumstances but these things happen.
ive found it a few times on schlage locks. other stuff too but its rare enough that i cant come up with specific examples

not sure which torch youre talking about but porta torch and propane torch things have both been clearanced almost yearly at select stores for 3 yrs straight so i wouldnt be shocked if you found a brand new one or a 'too old' one and the upcs didnt match the currently-clearanced one

One of the reasons I bought my Dewalt 40v yard equipment at Lowes a couple years ago, though Dewalt did claim a 90 day satisfaction on the tool box (at least at the time). Milwaukee announced their outdoor equipment on day 87, and back it all went. :) I was never going to be satisfied with yellow in my hands after that.

A number of garden fertilizer's are on clearance. Mainly Dr. Earth, 75% around me.

The mason jar kits. They have multiple skus with the same barcode. So they could show as a penny on the pca on one sku but ring up full price at the register under a new sku. Barcode matches both.

I can confirm the price of those $10 estwing axes. My HD had both plenary in stock, couldn’t see a real use for them tho. They also had a couple of their framing hammers (28oz oofph) for $8.

Side note I found some nice used knipex on the ground in an aisle. I felt dishonest leaving with them so I turned them in honestly hoping they would say finders keepers LOL no such luck.

Also my store has about 17 m18 7.25 circular saws (gen 1) still priced at 189, in are I could get them to match online of $111 but honestly I don’t need it and I can’t really stand blade right. But I am jealous of the larger blade and dust port...

Not sure if this is old news (I didn't find it while searching) but for a while now HD has had a deal where you get a free tool if you buy the Ridgid 9.0ah Octane battery starter kit. (This is their "one key"-style battery). I was bored earlier so I added it to the cart and started adding other "free" tools and noticed they were all being discounted.

I put the $199 battery and $149 Octane reciprocating saw in the cart, which made it $189 total ($113.80 and $75.20); I then added the $119 router which dropped to $74.47; the $99 panel light dropped to $66.11; the $69 LED flood light dropped to $51.24 and that's all I tried.

I ended up buying the saw and battery after seeing this video where the saw hangs with a Milwaukee Fuel (which I also own). I love my Ridgid 18v fan and vac so the bigger battery will come in handy and it'll be interesting to compare the saws.

Link to deal

The list of free tools is listed by item number, with no description.

Price Valid : 09/05/2018 - 10/30/2018

Anyone knows when and where I should pick up a Ryobi 16-Gauge Finishing Nailer with battery and charger?

Black Friday. They will probably go back up the few weeks before Christmas. BUT if there is a BF “Special Buy” you might be able to catch them on clearance and get it for about half off. This is how I got most of my Ridgid collection but it was before they stared doing the 00 pricing and it was much easier to get deals.

thankfully i threw in the towel on ridgid, they rarely clearance 18v stuff down to .03... i cant think of a single one this yr actually
sds was .00
x4 wrench was 70.00
x4 recip 70.00

i got all that and more in brushless milwaukees for .03s and pennys, some with giant batteries too.
i do like the ridgid stuff but deal-wise milwaukee crushes them.
vac, router, and orbital sander are my only unique 18v ridgids left!
i passed on the belt sander but it never went lower than 75.00

When should we be expecting to see the Black Friday Home Depot ad by?

they are super tight on theirs. I mean they all get leaked, but HS does a pretty good job of keeping theirs under wraps

This works against them in my house. I've usually made up my mind by Monday or Tuesday based on the leaked ads, and it's been Cabelas for me the last few years. If I'm going to spend $400-$500 on BF, I get gift cards at Kroger and wind up saving $70 in gas purchases because of 4X fuel points on the gift cards.

I go into HD about 4:00 or 5:00 on BF and pick up whatever is left over from the morning. Now if I can see the ad early enough, HD might be back in play.

Does Milwaukee have a lifetime warranty that includes batteries?

Yea, they only warranty if the tool breaks because of mnf. defect. Not wear and tear which is why most tools break past 3-5 years.

There's a reason you don't see Ridgid tools on the jobsites, because they break and don't perform as good as Dewalt or Milwaukee.

Commonly, our tools are used on job sites in the most demanding applications and environments. Under these conditions and over time, the RIDGID product may experience normal wear and tear and require service. While normal wear & tear is not considered a "defect" and is not covered by the RIDGID Lifetime Warranty, it is our goal to get your tool back in service a soon as possible. To help expedite this service, Ridge Tool offers a complete assortment of service parts and a network of RIDGID Independent Service Centers to meet your service needs. Our Service Center Network has been Factory Trained to provide quality repair service as well as accurate determination & execution of RIDGID warranty if required. For a complete list of RIDGID Independent Service Centers visit www.ridgid.com.

milwaukee crushes ridgid when it comes to deals... ridgid is hd only and we have not seen an 18v ridgid deal hit .03/75% in a year... you will find milwaukee deals for a fraction of the price of ridgid from hd alone.
ie
sawzall:
milwaukee fuel brushless with fast charger and 9.0 battery: $63.03 (with penny potential)
ridgid brushed x4 bare sawzall : $70.00

we even have a current hackzall trending down now
ridgid is good but deal-wise it cant come close to milwaukee/dewalt

It is very tuff to get Milwaukee at 03 around here. It sets at 00 forever. The blowers skipped 06 and went to 03 so I did a buy back.

You say this like it is common at every store. Clearance is ymmv, and no guarantee for anyone. While there are plenty more Milwaukee deals, most don't involve them being on clearance. And I wouldn't lump Dewalt in with Milwaukee. During the holidays they are pretty even, but Milwaukee has so many more promo's during the rest of the year.

this is completely true. the local store seems to get stuff cleared out by the milwaukee rep if it is going to go on clearance. if something is mentioned here, almost the only time i see it in store is when the rep has cleared it off the shelves into his cart. i dont think it has even gone discount at that store yet.
