This is a warning to watch your receipts from self checkout. The machine didn't print one out, so the cashier had to print it. A week later, I noticed this. I think if I had paid in cash, I'd probably be screwed if I needed to return.

If you pay by CC, and you enter your email address just 1 time in the machine, it will auto-email you a copy of your store receipt, but also it's all tied together so if you do need to make a return you can just use your CC and they can look it up that way. (Even if you don't do your email, usually they can backtrack by your CC to find the receipt info).

Yes, I went ahead and linked my cc to my home depot account, and it appears in there. That's why I mentioned cash, I'm not sure they would be able to do anything in that situation.

If you paid cash, and the register won’t print your receipt, you’ve got 2 options.

1) have them do an immediate refund, and rebuy at another register with ink & paper
2) get the puplicate receipt, and have the cashier right the reason for it, along with her his/her name, on the back. You’ll have to return it at the same store with this option, but you’ll be able to return it.

overlooked response above. redundant below

Besides for your records, you would have been fine without a receipt. They can just swipe your cc and look up items purchased in the last 90 days. I've had someone read the pertinent information off over the phone when I left a receipt at home, and they were happy to oblige.

Or get a free Pro's account, and register your credit card. The receipts will automatically be emailed to you. Very convenient when searching for an older purchase. You should also be able to enter your phone for cash purchases for tracking as well.

My local HD has a M18 Fuel 7 1/4" circular saw tool only on the end cap with a bunch of other yellow tag stuff on sale. It's yellow tagged at $199, rings up at the register at $189, but when I scan the barcode on the box and the barcode on the yellow tag, it shows up as $111. I've talked to two managers and neither one will give me the $111 price :). How do I get this thing for $111?

Go thru self checkout and ring the best price.

Try a different store or tell them HD online has it for 111 and they should match it. Mine needed a little prodding but eventually gave in.

"rings up 189", "scan the barcode on the box it's 111" something doesn't make sense here? How else do you ring up at register besides scanning the barcode?

It must be that store's price vs. the online price. I tried self checkout first, but it rang up $189 there, I showed them that it pulls up $111 on the HD app on my phone, and one of them even confirmed it with the HD app on their device, but no luck. I'll keep trying. I don't want to distract from the thread.

Why not just buy it online, for store pickup?

Not available online. It just shows the $112 price

i wonder if this is because they show one less than in stock so that there is one "left" for the store customer.

i have seen this before. i was buying a bunch of LED shop lights, and walmart had the best price. i wend around to several of their stores, and every one had one more than the web site said they had in stock.

tell them you would like to order if online and pick it up, but the web site seems to be holding this one back. maybe they will honor the price . . . . good luck.

It’s called safety stock - the algorithm put in place to try to cover for any mistakes in inventory. Yet another reason why we rarely find clearance deals on HD website.

I'm sure this has been covered, so I apologize, but I can't find this info:

I bought something at .06 and then it went down to .03, I purchased another. I didn't have my .06 receipt to get the price adjustment, and when I did bring it in, the item was at a penny, so they refused to do the price adjustment, seems to go against their policy.

If you have the .06 receipt then they should refund the .06 price even if it's currently at a penny.

How is that against the policy? You snooze you loose. Simple.

Lol, what's "simple" is to google "home depot price protection policy" before posting.

Deal, instead of BS: Hammock stand, was 99, now 24.75. 604-909

You waited until it was a penny, so you’re out of luck. They’re not gonna adjust the price to the current $0.01. Even if you did bring it back before it pennied out, they don’t have to do the adjustment on clearance items. Before you argue that the policy doesn’t exclude clearance items, realize that HD’s written policies are very much like mere suggestions in many regards.

There is a line that says HD has the right to refuse returns, leaving the door wide open to discretion. Most retailers bhave this.

Your only chance was when it was .03 for adjustment. And some may still not do it. Better luck bringing in a friend or family that says they want the item, and you want to return to your card. Or return it, go out to the floor, and then come back saying it turns out that was the right tool/model/one I need.

Yeah I have the Milwaukee one as well I got at 43.03 last fall, it’s much lighter. Has a lot to do with the weight of the battery. The echo I got for some family members

Where are you located? These are still .06 by me, just checked again today. I found a store with 2 chainsaws, but I need to take a little road trip to see if they are really there.

Well its the calm before the storm. I don't anticipate any Milwaukee Clearance deals between now and the end of the Holiday shopping season. I can forecast that clearance deals will be live again around mid-Jan, 2019 of next year.

The countdown to holiday sales begins. :lol_hitti
