Nope, I'm just a silver tongued devil. You can get 2 for 1 slim pack outs too. Hoping it works with the full depth ones but my store doesn't have any of those.

If you purchased the Echo 58v trimmers, check your battery. I bought a weed wacker a bit ago, when they were marked down. The battery is DOA. I just bought a hedge trimmer, same issue, battery is DOA.

if a lithium battery is doa youre gettin a free one bc you can jump the doa one with ease. dont leave em connected, just tap the leads twice maybe 5 times max and put it on the charger asap.

some chargers are smart enough to do it themselves if you take the battery on and off the charger a handful of times in a row
the old craftsman nextecs could do that

I just attached one of them to a trickle charger, I'm not sure what you mean by 'tap the leads" but thank you for letting me know you could jump them!

I bought a chainsaw, two hedge trimmers, and an old display string trimmer (with a battery in it). Only one that charged right away was the chainsaw battery. I was able to jump the two hedge trimmer batteries and get them to charge, but now (a week later) they are “defective “ per the charger and won’t charge. Old string trimmer battery won’t do anything.

Echo was great, and three new batteries are supposed to be on the way. Hope these survive for a while.

After getting them to start charging, they would continue to stop. If I unplugged and then plugged the charger in, I got them all to charge. Glad you are getting new batteries, but you may want to keep your old ones and try to get them to charge.

tap the leads:
take a good battery with proper voltage and the bad battery, take one wire and connect + to +. take a second wire and attach it to the - of the good battery then tap the lead to the bad batterys - like 2 times maybe a few more. immediately disconnect all wires and put the bad battery on the charger. battery should be jumped enough to charge. if not repeat and tap some more. dont leave them connected, just tap them quickly: tap tap tap, put it on the charger
and make sure the batteries have the same spec'd voltage Ie: 18v-18v, 12v-12v, 24v-24v, 36v-36v, 48v-48v, 60v-60v etc
so when you say you put a trickle charger on a 58v < or whatever > battery i assume you are talking about a 12v car trickle charger... that likely did nothing and may have even wrecked the battery completely

Aren't they strict now compared to what it used to be? The store used to be so much better but I think new management cracked down. I'm an electrician so I look around while I'm there anyways, not trying to buy and flip but I have done my share of that.

Are you f'ing kidding?? That's insanity. My HD told me that there should NEVER be an item ON the shelf that is 1 cent. They are supposed to pull it and it goes somewhere never to be seen again.

That's all true, but look at who works there and how many items they try to keep track of...

They were up on the first level rafters over by the air compressors. I have been watching them. They were $86 last week.

Wow. That’s a lot of patience! I would have jumped on them at 86.

Did brickseek show them? Everywhere around me has been sold out forever

Don't use brick seek. You are just giving the site item information it passes to it's paid subscribers. More often than not the inventory is off in my experience on BS, hence that huge warning pop up box.

There is no danger in using brickseek for HD. They do not provide any extra info to paid members for HD. All they have is the inventory tracker which is as accurate as the in store PCA inventory and it updates nearly instant.

Thanks for this!!! The amount of misinformation is just overwhelming. I have seen this comment about providing info to paid members on at least half a dozen platforms. You guys need to just quit with it!!!

Agree on the misinformation, Brickseeks says on their webpage that they aggregate search information for paid subscribers.

I just load up my cart with all the tools at clearance end cap and take them to self check out, scan it and if it's cheap or penny, I just buy it, if not back it goes

You have to work at it and have a lazy met team.

That doesn't answer my question.

actually, it largely does.

the MET (Merchandising Execution Team ) is the group that is supposed to keep ahead of these discounts. they change tags as things start to go on sale, they move them to other areas when the stock gets low or the discount gets high, and they are supposed to clear out things that penny, since that is HD's way of marking it for removal.

a lazy team leaves things behind. the only penny deal i got was two of the small husky tool bags. they were in the back of one of the shelves on a clearance section end cap. the person monitoring self checkout got really upset, i wasn't supposed to buy them, but i told her that the checkout was fine with it. she came over and asked me not to put my card in, but i already had, and it told me not to remove it. she decided to call the manager, and i told her when i was done checking out, i would be glad to wait for them to come explain to me why the checkout was wrong to sell me something. after she got off the phone, and i stood waiting, she told me that the manager wasn't coming. i told her that maybe it wasnt a big deal then.

i went to pick up a milwaukee kit that was regularly something like 400$, but had discounted to 100.03$, or something like that. the clerk in that area showed me the empty shelf, and said someone was at the door when they opened, and not only got all the ones off the shelf, but knew where the overstock ones were (or something to that effect). they were on craigslist that afternoon.

maybe befriending a MET employee (or getting a job as one, i believe most of them are late evening or over night) is the way to go.

or you can use one of the price checkers, which are often not to far away. it is my impression that they share the same database as the cash registers. i have seen evidence that the handheld units do not.

I really like the Empire brand levels & squares, but you have to be careful, not *all* of them are made in USA... There were some squares I was looking at there were made in India I think...
