What are the chances of getting the store to haggle on this toolbox? It was $248 at Spring Black Friday, then went to a $309 retail price, then up to $398 a few weeks before Black Friday, on sale for $298 during Black Friday, now back at regular $398. There were 31 in inventory around Black Friday, and they still have 30 in inventory now. I am wondering if I could mention that it used to be on sale for $248 and see if they would match that price. I would buy 2 of them at that price. The fact that they have only sold 1 of them in the past 3 weeks might help.

Would require store manager approval based on the 151 dollar difference. And how do you know they sold only 1 instead of selling a bunch and getting restocked? It also seems odd that they would have 31 of these in stock. That's a lot of floor and rafter space.

Yeah, 31 in stock seems a little high, unless you've seen rows of them somewhere in the store... I would do a physical count first, if there are a ton, then go see the manager on a slow day and see if he will wheel & deal... Like someone else said, offer to sign up for their HD card, maybe they will discount it even more.

kids dont forget to keep visuals on the sticker drops on the stuff in cardboard displays in the front of the store... the 'sticker drops' come in independent of pca-clearance filters. in years past many were hand written or printed on a white sheet of paper. they have little white price drop stickers at most stores this yr.

fortunately/unfortunately lots of stores arent keeping up with their stickers bc met isnt doing it for them. so theres some deal opportunities on incorrectly marked items if we keep an eye out and post drops as we find them

husky 12v ratchet to $49 was the first large drop that happened everywhere, bosch lasers nosedived the other day at one store only.
the big one will be the dewalt inflator... lots of those in stock everywhere here

Any chance any of the accessories for the hauler are on clearance too? I have the trailer (wish I had only paid $75!) And would like the handles, and tool holder.

Doesn't look like they are even in store around me. I picked up the Arnold brand (same manufacturer) for $75 from Lowes awhile back and have been waiting for a good deal on the wheelbarrow handles.

I have not physically been to the store I referenced. It is in Shalotte, NC, which is a pretty small town so I’m not sure why they would stock that many. It is an hour away so maybe I’ll call and see what they really have.

I got 2 of these last spring with an additional 10% off. $224 EACH. These are great boxes, and actually worth the current $400 price.

Wish I could find one of those aerators for $20. I've been needing one for the lawn. Almost decided to make one but for $20 that's a heck of a deal.

Made it to the store today that showed 30 in stock. There were 7 on the floor. I asked CS if I could speak to a manager to ask for a discount on one. She called manager and manager wouldn’t even come over to talk to me about it. She asked the CS lady if it was damaged. I said no. She said no discount. Oh well. I’ll keep my eye on them and see if inventory goes down any.

Usually how long before something gets price dropped again. My local hd has ryobi 2hp garage door opener discounted to $148. It's been this for a month, and it looks like they haven't sold one. Any ideas? Hoping to score one for about $75

There's your answer. It's very likely that one (or more) of those seven have some sort of "damage". Did you look them all over carefully? Even a minor scratch is damage. If you find one with damage, that is acceptable to you, get it discounted.

Unfortunately they may not discount it very much.

Wait until AFTER Christmas (but before the 1st if possible)... There's always the last-minute shoppers... But after Christmas is when it's time to clear all the stuff out as the shopping season is over...

I just have the feeling that particular Home Depot found some old stock laying on the top of the rafters or were sitting in the back gathering dust.

There were a few new models that came out, but none I've come across in person this year in the store.

I would hold off making any tool chest purchases right now. We are getting closer to the end of the season, wait 'till the end of January or mid-February.

Does anyone know exactly why? With more new models coming out this year are we likely to see this again??

These top chests were $25 (yes, you read that correctly, twenty-five dollars) last year shortly after the holidays

And the bottoms where $100. Best deal since I’ve joined this forum. Got two in my garage.

***** that the best price for them now is $448.

Thanks for the info - I have been trying to grab either the Husky or Milwaukee tool workbench + pegboard combo for a bit now, and just haven't seen any good deals on them in my local stores..

Any idea how to get a better deal on these things? current plan is to go in a day or two after xmas, however didnt know much about waiting till the end of january or mid february.

These are the two chests im looking into;

It is a tractor supply thing. It is on wrong thread.

Regardless of thread, the website doesnt ship or allow you to pick it up in store. Has anyone else had that issue?

The only I can think of it for the time being is to get hold of a $25 off $200 or more Home Depot Coupon

It has a 1-1/4” stroke length. The same as the $400 Milwaukee fuel super sawsaz
