Interesting day! Still recovering from some heat exhaustion from too much driving yesterday in the heat in a vehicle with no AC! (lessons learned DON'T do that, and spritzing myself with a spray bottle with water actually works quite well for a shot time, but by the time I was home I needed a good shower...
FYY a thermometer I brought said it was around 117 degrees in the cab... 100 and under was fairly manageable, 90 or so not difficult. but over 105 not so much... (Yeah makes sense , a fever over 104 is freaking dangerous...)
But I did go out for while (two posts worth of pics...):
Mostly From the dollar table (I got all this for ten, plus the next pic, minus the purple insulator, which was three):
I thought the hammer head looked quality, and thought I saw some light engraving but I was wrong - id does have "USA" cast under one of the claws
Crestallot dykes, the Needle nose are Boker and marked "US"- Tee screw, probably from valve covers, could be handy, a Plvmb DOE, Old silk lite mantles, A Tru-Fit/Lectrolite DBE, tommy bar?
pot hole cover handle, Ratcheting driver - (I've picked up several now and in every case an drop or three of oil and they run smooth as silk!) Old Inl bottle, (also Purple glass) the insulator, and does anyone know what the last odd bit is?
(I do - lets see how quick the group is (and HOW does that land in a table full of tools?
In addition; these "flashlight tools" - no batteries, but I think a rat chewed the case and peed on it so THATS outside and probably heading for the trash (anything that could sterilize it will probably finish it of...)
On the way out from this stop I also picked up a Wind up motor for a Victrolla and this cleaning station pump tank - another ten
So a decent first stop!
second was a three day old four day estate sale, the lady that runs it knows me and gave me half off! so 5 each for these!
First this metal box caught my eye, and when I opened it, I'm like; "Mine"...
Here's partly why - Oddest case I've ever seen!:
It's a Prenttis Wabers made Preway - Needs a pump leather at a minimum, and probably a filler cap gasket.
I also got a radio shack amp almost certainly from the 70's,
Edit: yes - 1971 and 24 watts - fairly decent!
and a canvas cot (needs canvas) and is a shorty.
