So the Blue box caught my eye in a corner of the garage. I'd been looking for lanterns or stoves to no avail, despite indications he'd been a camper, (fishing rods, tents and bed rolls...) I saw that adn said "No way!" It was siting on top id the longer box:
WAY! An Optimus 8-R! the other I didn't recognize (Partial Name is Vulcano---?) but is a gravity feed alcohol stove not a pressure feed:
practically under my feet is a Coleman 413F 2 burner stove (which I passed on) Bu was moving things and digging down there when I see the top of this peaking out!
I recognize that vent as a 242 or variant and its a 242 C from May of 1948!
It's VERY clean and if the little bit of rust on the bottom hasn't bit through, it should be a god runner! the Vent Appears to be pristine under the layered dust (VERY Rare!) I think I'm in luck as when I popped the fuel cap, it had a little pressure still (probably decades since last used)
this was also where the Coleman fuel can was - I keep digging and this pops up:
Inside is a nice looking M-1942 army stove!
This French made catalytic heater was down there as well:
And his box, which unfortunately was empty: (but I have a coupe so I grabbed it)
and this Box which was NOT empty!
Its a heat drum for a 502:
More to come!
