Here are some scores from last week and weekend, when I snuck into Portland for a few days.

First score was a Craigslist find, scored by browsing from home, guessing how long it would take to drive up there, and agreeing to meet the guy an hour or two later than optimal time. I was only 45 minutes later than I planned. Not a steal, but a price I was happy with.
No name on it, English made blade. Scratch in the sole is only real apology.

My next tool stop was Teds Tool Shack, a used tool emporium a bit away from downtown. BTW, Ted is no longer with us as proprietor, some younger kid running the show now.

Got a decent price on a few things, didn’t spend too much time digging through the bins of sockets and wrenches, but the few I looked in were mostly Craftsman of Taiwanese stuff. So I didn’t try to figure out where I am missing sockets etc.

Couple of casters for a project, a box for sorting, and some hole saws items to replace dead stuff. The MAC tubing cutter was grabbed thinking it was a PVC ratcheting tubing cutter, oops.

PXL_20220617_013447740-X3.jpg

And some liquid supplies which are not available locally.

Estate sale at an off site warehouse that I was at recently. Went after work. Sale was supposed to start at 5:00. Arrived at about 5:07 and there’s a flock of people already, many hauling full bags out.

Some stuff was real cheap. I was quite happy with my finds. Lots of little things.

Starrett gauge, Zippo tape, Lufkin tape, K-D, tiny shave, tiny wrenches, Brown & Sharpe clamp, 2 USA Leatherman Waves.

Couldn’t leave the tiny USA pocket knife with an ornamental star fish. Looks like a second object fell off of it.

Japan butterly knife. I always wanted a butterfly knife as a kid, because a friend had a toy plastic one that we loved to play with.

Thank you for the info on the Coleman. And yes you can post any pictures elsewhere.
If you would like more pictures let me know. This was sleeping in a basement cabinet for
probably 60 plus years. I got some NOS pots and pans that date to the late 40s early 50s in the same
cabinet.
Looks like you have the basket for it. Did it come with the pump (stem) that fits in the bottom of the pot? Those are hard to replace.

Spotted this cabinet in the background of a marketplace ad and asked how much they wanted for it. I thought the $100 reply was a good reason to go grab it. 43”x44”x12 deep. Turns out the place does govt liquidations and ended up buying the appliance dolly (1200 lb capacity) as well while I was there. I have severely needed one for awhile now. Also bought 6 nos USA made tape measures still in the boxes. Total for everything was $200

My favorite finds a pair of 10” adjustables.
The Irimo was $1. Has a side adjustment wheel. The Snap-On was marked $30. I asked the cashiers for some wiggle room and the lady said $10, but before I could respond she said ”No, $5.”. SOLD!
I think they remembered me from the last visit.

Just skip right over the Stanley Side Rabbet #98 plane, no one will notice you didn't mention it. Nice score on that, used to be super rare in the wild, now just rare.

Haha. I won’t lie, I thought it was only part of a plane. I threw it in the pile. The only other plane there was a Union 43? IIRC.
I might try this in the evaporust, without the knob of course. We’ll see.

Unions are pretty rare too, but a 43 isn't very interesting.

Is the side rabbet rusty, didn't look too bad from what little you showed if it.

Got this lot today. Seen a sell on marketplace in one of the richer parts of town and decided I'd see what was there. Wasn't expecting much but they brought in stuff from their other house in the county where they used to farm. Guy selling the tools didn't want much on most of it other than the 3/4 stuff and was happy selling the screwdrivers all together for $3 since we weren't resellers and we got a decent amount of stuff all together. Said he'd go through the rest of the stuff he wants to get rid of and give me a call so I might have a chance at some more older tools like the New Britain set.
IMG_20220618_095233.jpg
New Britain 3/8 socket set, have to see what might be missing but surprisingly there's not one but two Tommy bars. Plus another proto crowsfoot to get rid of. Probably will pass it on too once it's cleaned up along with my 1/2 drive ratchet I restored and replaced missing parts on last year for $1.
PXL_20220618_135624466.jpg
Snap On orange screwdriver set. Missing two Philips but the rest are in good shape.
IMG_20220618_095228.jpg
Snap on insulated nut driver set. Older set but also in good shape.
IMG_20220618_095230.jpg
Ended up being $5 for the New Britain, $3 for the snap on screwdriver set, $2 for the snap on insulated nut driver set, $100 for the Pittsburgh 3/4 set plus 2 through 2-1/2 add on(don't look too closely they're china, good enough for the rare occasion ones needed at one of my other shops though instead of lugging my impacts or my own cheaper set).

Found this one at a garage sale with a bunch of clothes and kid toys. I was just looking at it on a shelf, not thinking it was for sale, and the voice in the doorway said "That's fifty cents". I had to look to be sure she was talking to me, and fished the two quarters out of my pocket before she changed her mind (or the real owner walked in) and I high-tailed it to my car. It was pretty grubby but the gen-you-wine plastic replica hemi on the high tensile Xmas ornament string came with it. The amazing part is that after I cleaned it up I grabbed the handle and the silly thing pumps up and releases when I open the valve.
I haven't even looked to see what the story is on this. Promotional item I would guess, like Snap-on toolbox banks, but I don't know how common it is.
Joe

Ok. So y’all forced me to go on the hunt. I don’t like being left out.LOL

Didn’t find any old school tool gems, so I grabbed more of what I “could use”.

Seller priced each piece at $.50 ea. so I think this lot was about $10, maybe $15 (we bought other stuff with it). 7ft T-posts $2ea. Yard tools $5ea. Some books and a crate to haul it all.

Pickups this weekend from advertised sales.

Sale with minimal tools but spied in the sale photo's what I thought might be a Barcalo wrench set and was correct.

Pickups from a few different sales, Snap-On extension, Snap-On bronze hammer, funky Gray Canada adjustable, Thomas and Betts pliers, Barcalo adjustable, Craftsman USA ratcheting wrench and Vise Grip chain clamp.

Best score of the weekend, aluminum swivel chair made by General Fireproofing and looks to have come from some Stromberg-Carlson facility $5.

My scores from a handful of local and neighborhood sales, and one day 2 estate sale. The big grab was a Craftsman pressure washer at a reasonable price. The fun grab was a Patton hi velocity fan with metal blades for $1, since the knob was missing from the switch.

Bunch of other goodies including L-R on top of the wooden riser, Robertson screwdrivers, Intralox sliding wooden ruler, Stanley and Stanley look alike geometric Craftman chisels, Lectrolite Tru-Fit thin nose pliers, Felco and some other pruners, Champion deArment and Channellock dual marked pliers, Atkins spokeshave, large Irwin short ship auger, SK socket, cats paw nail puller, plastic box, Nicholson half round file, cobblers hammer, small ball peen, and a body hammer. In the front is a Stanley 100 squirrel tail block plane, unmarked.

Across the tailgate, a nice 3 way extension cord splitter, a bunch of contoured sanding blocks for odd shapes, 3x Proto screwdrivers, tiny Clamp, rusty Bondhus ball head drivers, nice handle for who knows what, Crescent 6” wrench, with a really fat handle and marked opening dimensions, X marked DBE, forget the brand, Laguiole Tobacco Pipe Tool, Logitech Webcam, 2x rolling cutters, 2 Hyde type knives, and a small scissors. Hiding under the riser is a narrow trenching shovel.

Picked up this 50’s craftsman drill press off fb marketplace for $175 to snag a few accessories off it and resell it for hopefully a profit👍. Had a MSA and a motor cap cover on it so I was stoked.

Jacobs976, you **** for the Snappy deals. Outstanding.
OK jacobs - you suuuuuuuuuuuck!
Got some news. Day was just getting started... although to a much lesser extent unfortunately. Went to another sell in the county and got a $50 fill a bucket deal and a manual grinding wheel. Gotta organize it all, right now my desk has all my packages and the stuff from the first sell sitting to clean up so I'm out of space, then I'll post a pic.

You can get more than $175 for that DP after picking those accessories off?
