MrsLS & I continued our flea selling experiments today at Leesport (PA) Farmers Market. The photo is at 11am, when we had sold about a third of our stock and several vendors had packed up and left. The air was very humid and had reached 80°F. A couple candles melted onto our tarp.

I spent much of the morning afoot and $30 on small tools.
Among the highlights, a 2” Red Devil (Irvington) putty knife; beehive screwdriver; Stanley drivers; a Bonney driver and nine DOEs; a stump of a Utica driver and two pliers; Buhl, Winchester, Kraeuter, Hinsdale, Blue Point, and two Wright DOEs; and a VacuumGrip slipjoints.
As we were packing up I chatted with the next vendor, who had a 2009 5-disc Sony surround sound system for $20. I was warming up to the idea of buying it when he surprised me by giving it to me, though he held back the subwoofer - I have no idea why. I hooked it up at home and got the residue of two ruptured AA batteries out of the remote. It does indeed work, though without the subwoofer, it’s pretty anaemic: only slighty better than my flatpanel tv alone. The other speakers are 3ohm impedance, so I suppose the subwoofer is, too? [EDIT: No, it’s 1.5ohm.] Maybe I can scrounge one up.
We attempted to have lunch in Hamburg at the
1787 Brewery, but it’s a ThFrSaSu-only place. So up PA61 (past the chain restaurants parasitizing Cabelas) to the
Port Clinton Hotel for a couple huge, juicy burgers and IPAs. (Note to self: order the fries!)

In a “don’t blink or you’ll miss it” town that boasts a hand-lettered Post Office sign, it’s easy to assume there are no such gems to be missed, but the Hotel, and the
Peanut Shop (old school candy shop) across the street, are genuine treasures.

Finally, a stop at Goodwill to divest the unsaleable items.
