Extremely rare Thursday ES for me today. Tons of stuff and tons of tools and the weirdest tract house I've ever been in! Garage door was stuccoed over and garage converted to a room; the kitchen downstairs was sink counter only and apparently converted in to a "Crafts room"; a "New" (but very old) kitchen was added upstairs? and a detached garage added in the back, (where most of the tools were) and a "something" room tack on the back of the house Swimming pool was empty and had been for years (except for the remnants if rain water) several door had 2-3" step up/downs adn everyone was tripling on those...

Two tool box stacks were "All or nothing" and one bottom was locked shut?

But I found a few things:

Couple of hammers -We all know what the big one is, but the small one (with a REALLY long handle) is an oddity - someone was clearly a body man, I left other body tools.
ES1 DD adn odd small head hammer.jpg

Handles at lest by MAC:

ES2 MAC handles.jpg

Crescent 4" wire formers, Blue point Snap ring pliers, and 2 mini Vise grips, one of which desperately needs an E-Rust bath... (Frozen)

ES3 Crescent Wire form BP snap ring, 2 mini VGs.jpg

Matco Drivers; two are definitely marked:

ES4 Matco.jpg

#3 is a different shape and no markings, but the receiving end of the grips are identical:

ES5 Matco.jpg

4" leather sheath, and a "Surgical Kit" - mixed brands, some from Pakistan but probably the nicest Pakistani work I've seen.

ES6 Surgical, and Sheath.jpg

Last was a metal "Viking ship", I asked how much (It was at the register table - My tab was @30) and she said "Still thirty!". OK! if you look close, they "mixed Metaphors", and included 2 skull and crossbones -only about 7 centuries after the vikings!

sound like several houses I’ve been in here on the coast. One had three connected garage sales going on, the craft room was the most interesting, with a great view of the yard, wood siding inside, the clothing mess on, and the stuff out in the yard.

I have a fleet 8” adjustable pm me if ya need it. I may other stuff for that tool board too.
I really like my estate sale find for today! Fleet Alloy Tools by Penens Tool Corporation wall tool board for $25! None of the tools are Fleet but most of the wrenches are Penens. I'll have to check out my Fleet and Penens stashes to see what I can find for this board! I'm thinking about keeping this and mounting in my kitchen for quick household repairs without going out to the shop.

Nice find on the F747, don't have that size but have another from the same series and it's my favorite roto ever. Hope you can get it freed up and working again.
I haven't used a roto before but I like the idea of them at least. Tend to use a breaker or extension if I want the screwdriver positioning so roto should be useful there.

Got the housing cleaned up but the gear will need replaced. Teeth are great, actually doesn't look like it had much abuse or use for that matter, but the thing is locked up. Feels like a hard compaction, whatever got in it over the years clogging up the mechanism, so it might break loose or be effectively welded in position.

No home runs but spent $7($6.50 but I didn't get change) today.
PXL_20230803_192357116.jpg
Snap On F747(seized)
Meteor ignition pliers(didn't have a pair of slip joints this small)
Matco 15mm wrench
Mac 3/8 extension
Oiler can
32(?)oz ball peen
Odd pliers
10lb sledge
1-1/2"x8" screw jack(handle broken off but otherwise intact on first inspection although there's a fairly thick coat of dust/mud on the exterior)

Don't think anything is particularly rare but it's few extra things for my office/stuff to resale if it's not needed.
You **** just for the ratchet alone.

Went to few more sales today. Missed out on a 4th pipe vise for my collection but got a hospital scale. Not really tool related but it'll be in my office for the occasional subtractive weighing. Was $2 so it's probably a decent deal too.

That's a You **** price for that scale--even if it reads you 10 pounds heavy!
Was expecting to have to figure out calibration for it but surprisingly it's actually spot on. Weighed true for me and my coworker plus me and a 6 pound maul head testing for accuracy.

Only downside with it is I also checked the ruler and I've apparently lost a few inches in the past decade(double-checked with tape measure in case the ruler wasn't accurate) so it did come with some emotional damage(probably just slouching/compression after a labour intensive day yesterday so it'll probably be back to normal after a rest day).

It could be all the money you saved, buying that scale at $2 is weighing you down.

Nice finds guys!

This is a rehab of a box I recently got. I'thinking possibly SK? but who cougd tll with a 2 tone reattle can butchers job of a repaint:

1-4 box before.jpg

Post Hot SG and USC, then a last step for Erust:

1-4 rat box closed.jpg

1-4 rat box Open.jpg

It's 1X2X6-3/8 or so -I'm thinking it may be SK? can anyone confirm or deny? I suppose it could be any of several Mfgs if the same box supplier?
Based on my measurements, it doesn’t seem to match the Plomb set boxes.IMG_9883.jpegIMG_9881.jpegIMG_9880.jpeg
but it is virtually an exact match to my ’38 to ‘41 S-K Chrome 1/4” drive small set box. 1” x 2” x 6-3/8”.IMG_9886.jpegIMG_9887.jpegIMG_9888.jpegIMG_9889.jpeg

Thx Don! I appreciate the measurements, and I agree same size as the SK box 38041. what was the original paint for those? OD? fFat or wrinkled?

Seems like an exaggeration…
a good state
Ohio is decent!
Two MLB teams, two NFL teams a NBA team a MLS team a NHL team two large amusement parks football hall of fame ...rock n roll hall of fame....great people
And home to a stunning and unparalleled number of famous, popular vintage renowned high quality toolmakers, including Vlchek, Fairmount, Herbrand, Cornwell, Wright, MAC, and Ridge. Its location gives Ahia an interesting diverse character, from hillbilly to midwestern to maritime (a literally Great Lake :)). But seriously, does Ohio or California or New York or Texas or anyplace any of us call home need defending? Are we really going to start commenting on subjectivities like assessments of states? Is there an objective ranked lists of states floating around that I don't know about? They're all great. And they all have some issues. Not on my watch! This isnt 'Free Parking'.

Thanls again Don!

Was Brazil red/orange inside and out?

This one was clearly a repaint and no sign of any wrinkle, just lumpy paint

Were they all wrinkle? Not sure about the second to last (Chrome) set.

Did any use the 30's yellow and balck decal/sticker?

Well, I was told to post this up here. This was my Marketplace find of the summer, and first box. $150 for the Cornwell box and sidecabinets, then $100 for all the tools with it. There’s plenty more you haven’t seen. Snap-On, Cornwell, Craftsman, and Wizard for complete socket sets, then various other incomplete sets in that gallon ziplock. Two Snap-On ratchets and a good set of Cummins punches.

Bonus - the Craftsman toolbox at the end with 4 ratchets - including one Snap-On. Also a 1/2” set of Craftsman standard sockets, and the two 1/4” boxes. All that was $30 on Marketplace.
