OK, I rechecked CL for local sales and some cropped up and 2 were worth getting in the car for. I'm glad I did even if it isn't a USUCK find. Its actually almost nice out today, sunny adn nearly 60 deg!
One had a lantern box in the pics but it was long gone. (a newish model 425 Coleman stove was still there, and still is..)
I found this book and got it - copyright 1938 and 1940:
And I made several asks about long shot items, and mentioned aluminium canopy or tent poles - and struck pay-dirt, and it was "just take them! Please!" He was thinking about recycleing:
This is the exact same canopy frame I use with my tent trailer for a complete coverage canopy for "living space" and a super rain fly over the tent of the tent trailer. I've been missing one top gable fitting since the day I got it some years back. I've used it stand alone, and for two different tent trailer setups with a replacement top piece I made from PCV (dn requires the aluminum poles to be taped on the ends for that piece....) No more!:
Its missing the other one and one corner piece, so the remainder are spares.
the
long poles are all there -11 of them - 3 ridge poles, 4 "rafters" and 4 legs, at least one is bent, but is probably usable in a pinch, but mostly these will be used to make it bigger as needed for when I use it "free standing"(I'l figure that out and find a suitable tarp for that size...)
the 3 extensions for the ridge poles are there and will be used to extend my current canopy frame from 6 ft to 8 ft.
only 1 leg extension is there, so a spare...
Meanwhile any left over can be used for other pole projects...
What my current fame looks like (PVC replacement up front):
