Good job !

and really easy to work on the car with this kind of lift

Thanks! I only wish the ceiling was a bit higher! The lift is super handy.

Nico, amazing work! I'm curious to see more about the operation of your slick lift. Also, what did you use to restore the B pillars and tail lights on that Golf? Amazing.
Thanks Rick! Already talked about the polishing steps in PM

Nice job on that R!
Thanks man!

I'll be keeping a close eye on this. I do a little bit of detailing on the side as well so it'll be nice to see how this comes along. Maybe I'll borrow some of your ideas haha.
Looks like you're quite the handyman... great job on the drywall and electrical! I wish I was better at wiring but it scares the **** out of me!

Sure buddy! I'd recommend liking my fb page and sending me private messages there. I think I've always been good with my hands, which is why I decided to do a trade :)

Great work man!! That VW is sweet!

Thanks! That VW is actually really nice, it has around 250 hp/tq as well as AWD!

Looks totally different you just need better looking ramps for the low cars haha

Thanks, I already thought about something different for the ramps. I'll eventually pimp them haha!

Subscribed.. this looks like it's going to be cool!!

Thanks!

If this garage interests you, be sure to check the Facebook page. Amazing car details being banged out of this garage!

Great idea Rick!

Thanks Rick.. yes I will check it out. I'm currently getting my garage layout in Visio. One of the reasons I think I'm so attracted to Nico's, your, and others garages here..they remind me of a buddy of mine's shop (he did car detailing/car restoration).. I LOVE a clean garage/car. Nico, just checked out your website and liked your fb page.. GREAT work there!

Thanks! I try to upload as much as pics as possible

Hey Nico so is this garage now done and fully functional?

You started off like a wild fire, but now it seems to be smoldering, which i assume means your almost done and onto focusing on the business!

Hey dubber, you are totally right. I've been too busy detailing, also I recently graduated so I had to study a lot too. I will start looking for job in my field next week.

I'm not done with the garage yet, I have to take care of some details and will upload the thread with new pics soon!

Nice work, good luck with the business!

Thanks Eric ;)

Time for an update guys!

I don't remember whether I mentioned this but I screwed the electrical a bit (shame on me !), not really a big deal. The two light fixtures right above each table were always on. Here is how i fixed them:

I added a switch for each one, which i wanted to do since the begging anyways

I first measured right in the middle of the two receptacle

Removed the light and made a whole to place the new box with F clips

Found my fish

Same process for each table, ran new wiring, put the switch and that's it!

I then decided to do this

Followed by this

Which turned into this ( ignore the mess please)

I then cleaned one table and put my old pc + a small stereo system on it :p

And finally placed all my products (except gallon size) in the cabinet !

I will finish cleaning everything this weekend so more pics to come with the finished product!

Hey Nico,

CONGRATS on being an electrical grad. How's the job hunt going? Wish the best for you. How do you like the wall mounted lights? I been thinking about doing that in my shop when it's finished.

Need some help here. I received my signs and I'm not sure where to put them. I initially wanted to hang them right above each bench but I find it looks too busy?

VHlJmb5.jpg

So i thought about doing this instead:

xUUguvO.jpg

I have enough room to hang both of them on the same wall, which is the one where I take most of my pictures. I could always hang one on that wall and the other sign on the wall across.

What do you think?

Thanks Nico

Beauty job on the Mk2. I think the posters should be in a spot where you will be taking pictures and seeing them in the background.

Thanks Dubber :) ! It belongs to a buddy of mine, clean ish for a 92! My brother swapped a VR in it for his client. Car was traded with a friend of mine who sold it to another friend haha! He just swapped a 1.8T ( 225HP + CHIP) in it and asked for a quick ext polish.

About the signs, well I ended up putting them above each work bench, they look great!

Today I finished a rare 993 I started yesterday, put around 20hrs or so on the exterior, car came out amazing. The owner just picked it up from the body shop, some panel were replaced and the finishing wasn't the best. I'm making a video for this one, it will be ready in around 2 weeks so I'll post it here !

Here is a pic of the hatch I had to fix

And the car ready for delivery

Fantastic build! I especially like the tile. I think it's the fact they are rectangular which gives it that cool look, plus the "baseboard" you made with it too. Best of luck with your business! Not that it looks like you need it!

If you ever mount a large flat panel TV in your garage at any time, look to see if it has a USB port on it. If it does, you can put all of your pics, plus pics of your sign onto a jumpdrive and have a rotating advertisement.

And that Porsche looks fantastic!!!!

Nico, garage and cars both look great. An idea: you should paint your storage cabinet black to match your signs, Etc

I touched this one up a little bit, the color was way off. Not perfect but still better than the one I posted before.

What did you use on the grey leather seats to get them so clean without damaging the color pigmenting?

Time for an update guys!

The rush is done but I still manage to do a couple of cars per week.

My extractor died on me 2 months ago so it was time to open it up and see what the problem was. Was rather "easy" to fix, the heating element corroded a cable that was connected to the heating switch. I had to take the whole thing apart in order to remove the screws to clean the rust off and replaced the connector which had melted!

AmWbmtH.jpg

I also got rid of the osb panels I was using for the lift to protect the porcelain. We had a piece of UHMW laying around for years, finally found a good use for it!

I have watched hundreds of detailing videos, and that was one of the best I've seen. I liked the shot of all the used pads. Great work. You are very skilled in the art of detailing.

Wow! Rick thank you very much! It was a lot of work (even tho I didn't film), but I think it came out really nice. I'll be posting it on my fb tomorrow and also on my new website, which should be ready soon.

Thanks again!

PS: Used pads shot was my idea :p
