Everything looks great (house, yard, driveway, garage). You're right it's basically the exact same size as mine. However, I'm very jealous of the walls and floor! The table you made came out really nice as well.

Thanks guys! It is getting a workout. I do not regret all the prep work, or the floors. The VCT is stained and scratched, but holding up well and easy to keep clean.

I need that done to my place, but not sure I want the cost as I don't plan to be there for more than two years. Decisions, decisions!

If you are sure you are moving, and want to save money for the next place too, maybe a Racedeck tile solution would work. You can pick it up when you leave.

On the other hand, VCT is cheap enough that you can do it and leave it. Paint and drywall are good for resale in a clean garage environment.

The garage looks awesome! You are definitely creative with storage and space usage. All your hard work has definitely paid off. Please keep us updated when you start your addition.

What I did with that tile, marginally garage related. I cut about 200 cuts in the garage for the porch tile project:

The my friend Umberto helped my lay them:

200 square feet. It took 8 hours, but that included a lot of prep, removing the railings, cleaning and set-up. Plus, it was over 90° and done half in the sun! Needless to say I sweat more than I have in years.

But, the result was pretty good.

Tomorrow we grout, if it doesn't rain.

I think it looks pretty good for a couple of amateurs, and all the cutting around the poles.

I will have a few more photos later.

All grouted and sealed! Damn lot of cleaning to wipe the excess grout off!

Tomorrow we add the railing back.

I have to say, for a first effort, it took a lot more work than I expected, though the heat and multiple cuts for the posts didn't help, but it is worth it!

Looks great!

We are moving to Charlotte in Sept and there is a strong possibility we will end up with a front porch like that. They are all concrete and I was considering what you could do with them. Do those get slippery when wet?

A little update on the porch. We added tile to the steps and around the upper part of the sides.

Wow beautiful porch and whole property JVB.

Now we know what a NICE house in VA should look like . . . instead of your sketchy neighbor's burnt house. ;)

What a little slice of heaven. I can actually hear the birds chirping and is that an apple pie I smell? Nice.

Wow, thanks! A little apple pie after a nice fish dinner!

Sweet, keep up the good work:thumbup:

We have accomplished a lot more than I thought we would in 1.5 years. Thanks!!!

:lol_hitti Yeah, that house at least "looks" OK these days. Still empty and burned out inside, but not so obvious!

Thanks Guys!

What a lovely place to hang out for a morning coffee. Can you drive through the garage, or is that front access? One obvious thing missing: OLD GLORY! I've always loved that in the US - so much so that we put a big Canadian Flag on our house here!

Going back to the shed - did you use treated lumber for the base - or are you going to paint/stain it?

Right now the garage is front opening only. However, I am planning on an 18X16 workshop on the aback with a 6' wide rollup in the back of the garage to get my bikes in, and all the tools with go in the shop so we can park the cars in the garage.

I have a flag, but we only display it on holidays.

The shed base is treated lumber, and is due for some heavy exterior paint, just low on the list. The shed location "should" be good for the shop extension, I hope.

Thanks guys!

Your Garage looks great!!

I am new to the forum and found it trying to research what I am going to do in my garage once my new house it built. Been debating floors for a while now and cant decide between vct, epoxy, or RaceDeck.

I live just north of you outside of Frederick (I am sure you have been riding up here) How has the VCT held up with our strange weather around here? My use is fairly similar to yours as it will be my work shop for my mustang. I am concerned that the VCT will have problems with tire yellow and worried that our cold winters will mess with the adhesive. What did you end up using for your adhesive?

I used Armstrong adhesive. No lifting at all, and it does get wet from time to time.

To be honest, I would likely go with Porcelain if I were to do it again. No worries about lifting, discoloring, cracks or damage. I just spent 4 hours scrubbing and cleaning mine, and it looks good, but it is far from no maintenance when you work on it.

Here is how it looks after a year and a half:

You are welcome to come by and see for yourself and talk about it if you like.

Oh, and I have ridden your way many times.

Between both VCT and porcelain tile, which would hold up to more abuse such as jacking up vehicles and dropping things on the tile?

I like your garage with the VCT tile and was wondering why you mention you would go with porcelain tile if you did it over.
