p.s. The only things the hinges do on a safe is allow the door to swing. They have no part in locking the safe. You can cut the hinges completely off a gun safe and the door still won't open.thanks, good things to consider. do you think the concealed hinge on a cannon is more break in resistant than the exposed welded hinges??

Just don't order a safe from wherever this guy did: http://gma.yahoo.com/blogs/abc-blogs/ohio-man-orders-empty-gun-safe-finds-300-100029959.html

My brother-in-law recently retired from his fireman job with a big-city fire department. He saw and fought fires from the smallest apartment to the largest industrial building. He told me that one is not gonna get a "safe" that will truly protect its contents from fire, unless it's a small fire, until one has spent quite a few thousands of dollars on the safe. Meaning, to get that quality of safe costs a lot of money, more than most are willing or able to spend [including yours truly]. As he said, you can stick things in a safe and keep someone else from taking them, but fire is still gonna get them.
