Well guys after looking and reading a while on here I'm finally gonna start my build. Had to move some electric and the weather wasn't wanting to cooperate till now. Gonna start digging the spot level Tuesday. Doing everything but the concrete because I'm getting a great deal on the labor to pour and finish it.

Got my papaws 580 case and his terramite so some fun is in my future. I'll post up some pics once I start digging.

Gonna be a 24x36 with 12 foot ceilings. Have two eclb f250 with some things done. Tired of the blacktop mechanicing.

Just for reference that's t5c Terramite. About 6 feet tall.

All the post are set and braced with concrete in the holes. Going to let it all set over the weekend before I pull the braces. I'm probably going to have a couple questions next week as I get the framing started.

Getting there. 4 more trusses to set and braces in the sides and back in the am. Hopefully getting metal on next week. A backhoe makes a very handy crane.

Well got the gravel spread, compacted and a driveway from the blacktop up. Supposed to have the concrete poured in the AM weather permitting. 16 yds of 4000psi should get the job done. This is also the only part I'm subbing out which *****. I just don't have the man power to get it done.

Metal is sitting on the trailer and going up this weekend. Getting ever closer.

And we have concrete. 16.5 yds of 4000 psi 6 inches thick. What was bad is only 8 yds can be carried on the truck because of bridge so we had to have 3 trucks total. But overall it turned out nice.

Been a little bit but between work and the weather time has been tight. Took the day off today and got the roof and one side on. Going to finish the metal up next weekend and maybe get the garage door up if it comes in time.

Lookin good, your're moving along well considering you're doing it yourself and after work.

got a couple of questions...
It looks like there were 2-3 weeks between the time you started setting and bracing the posts til the time you set the trusses. Did you have much moving, warping or bending of the treated posts during that time?

Looks like you used 4x6 for your line posts. Did they "move" any more than the 6x's.

Did you use any type insulation under the roof metal?

Do you have more pics of the concrete pour. How did they get the concrete to the far end of the 36 ft?

They did bow very slightly in the middle. But I think they were like that when I go the them. We checked square before we set the trusses and everything checked good. There were a couple trusses that warped before I got all the roof perlins up but we worked around it so I think well be ok.

What do you mean by the corners. Inside or out? I can get all the pics you want tomorrow. Its raining today.

Yea its 2x6 tongue and groove treated. I'm going to put some sort of sealing paint on it. Then put a drain system around the bottom. Fill the sides with mostly creek stone. Put a thin layer of dirt just to plant the grass.

Were you able to get concrete trucks under that 12 ft high truss chord?

Did you consider using tar paper and tar on those walls before backfilling? Or a rubber roofing mat maybe.

No it didn't fit but the concrete guy had a long chute. I'm still planning with the boards. Open to ideas. I don't plan on back filling and landscaping till the spring.

Got the back wall and other side wall on. Put some leftover bubble in the front truss and have a tarp over the opening. 120000 btu torpedo heater got it from 32 to 51 inside. Built one wall for the garage door frame out. Will have to post pics tomorrow. Tried to beat the dark out side so no pics.

Now for pics. Got the back metal and other side on and got the garage door framed out last night. Will be an 18 x 10 door.

Do you all think I should put another 2 x6 on each side of the stud walls? Seems ok right now but not sure when the door weight is on there.
