This is my first thread here on garage journal, I've been following for a couple weeks and mentioned these on another thread and there seemed to be some interest in more details so here goes. After the recent sale on the Sears 3/4" drive metric sockets (found on the hot deals page and helped locate through a GJ member), I decided to build another rack to store them on as well as complete the rack I had started for my SAE sockets (just started purchasing them as money would allow). I thought I'd share a few pics and info for anyone else who's interested. These racks are made out of 3/4" hardwood plywood with 3/4" hardwood dowels. I painted them with black and gray rustoleum gloss spray paint. I modeled them to match with my Hansen socket trays. Layout and spacing was the most time consuming and if I was to do them again I would make the spacing narrower on the MM (my mistake because of time since I made the SAE, *memory fail). I also found out after I made them and the socket's arrived that Sears didn't drill all the through holes the same so I had to drill a few of the smaller sockets out to fit over the dowels. I had a local vinyl shop make up the labels, hopefully they hold up, I think they will since they shouldn't get much disturbance sitting on top. Well enough wordy description, here's some pics
