An alternate reality in a parallel universe.
Figured I'd post a few pictures of my 3/8" drive cordless impact wrenches so that you guys can see their size relevant to an industry standard Snap On CT4410.

A few comments, even thought the Matco's specs are rated higher than the SO CT4410, the 4410 beats it in the torque department, but the Matco is lighter, but larger.

The CT8810 weighs as much as the CT4410 even though the new CT8810 has LiIon batteries, but it has 18 volts versus the 14.4 volts of the CT4410.

The Bosch is a sleeper, at first you'll think this thing is not working right, but I verified its rpm with a laser tach and it was spot on, once I applied it to a few bolts it surprised me, it is a very, very quiet and smooth impact wrench but it is only rated at 1,500 in. lbs. so 125 ft. lbs. This does have a little more torque when ran with the larger Fat Pack batteries, as to how much more torque I'd have to check but I'm basing that comment on what it feels like. Of course with the Fat Pack the tool is taller, so basically the same height as the CT4410.

The Milwaukee 2451, that has been my go to at work for over three years, its a f*cking Timex, it takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin', this thing has been abused, dropped, kicked(accidently) and used by others with no consideration and just keeps going. Addiing the XC battery raised its torque output by I estimate 15%. I'm adding two more of these to my work box (industrial maintenance) since I love having multiple impact wrenches set up and ready to go, changing sockets slows me down.

The DeWalt does have more torque than the Milwaukee 2451, but when the Milwaukee is loaded with the XC battery game on. The DeWalt's grip is a little small for me but I have big hands.

I'm waiting for the AC Delco 3/8" 12V iimpact I ordered to arrive and will be getting a Milaukee M12 FUEL 3/8" soon too. I'll do a few other threads, one for my 1/2" cordless impacts and one for my 1/4" cordless impacts soon.

I picked up the 3/8 SnapOn 14.4. Its great for wheels. It breaks them loose in just a couple hits and torques them right about 100 ftlbs.

About three weeks ago, in some regions they released the new 14.4V ratchet and the balance were introduced to the new 18V 3/8" impact.

TheGrooveking

Ya my dealer has had the new ratchet the last couple weeks. Guess I'm going to have to bug him about the impact on Friday

grooveking you are my cordless idol- how do you afford all that- that is some SERIOUS loot in cordless. Where do you keep all the different chargers? all I have is older Makita 10.8v and IR w7150- whats your opinion of the w5130 w the big battery on it... I cannot afford to invest in another battery system. whenever my Makita 10.8v set shits the bed- any recommendations? dewalt 12v? for everyday use in a busy shop

As far as I know I thought torque sticks had to be applied with an air gun, I tried using my W7150 with torque sticks and it wasn't getting them anywhere close to torque as my air gun does.

I never trust a wheel tighten with a cordless impact unless I go over it with a torque wrench. I would never use a torque stick on one either. With torque sticks, the user is suppose to zero his air impact in as close to 230 ft lbs as possible to get the closest to stated torque of the stick. With cordless not being adjustable and their power slowly wayning while used, a torque stick should never be trusted with a cordless. And don't tell me lin ion have the same power the whole life the battery, my milwaukee never did.

I would like to see these tested against ingersoll rands IVQ series. The 20V 3/8 Impact. Also you should weigh prices of each gun to determine which is the best "bang for your buck." I have been doing the same tests with the 1/2 and the winner is the IR with few that even stand up close, especially in the cost department.
