3/8" Drive Metric Impact Sets USA

I picked up a couple of metric impact sets in 3/8" drive from Cripe this week. I thought the prices were pretty good. First set was an 11 pc. Kobalt shallow set made by Williams for $18.

The second set I had to piece together, but it's an Armstrong deep set. I picked up the 9 thru 19mm sockets for about $23. Search under Cripe's listings for Armstrong impact socket and you'll find them. I purchased about $70 worth of stuff and shipping was $12. Add the stuff to your cart. Once you agree to purchase, you can request a combined shipping total. Don't even try to figure out the combined shipping cost on your own.

There are a few impact extensions available as well.

Okay price on these though. Not sure about the quality don't care if snap-on oversaw production or not you bust em you're getting some **** taiwanese impacts (if they allow the warranty claim and it has yet to change to china). Kobalt taiwan impact is awesome though.

Just bought a set of the sockets.
They also have the Gear Wrench XL SAE long ratcheting wrenches for $40 a set, just like the Metric set GW had on their web site for $40. Oh yes I bought them also.

They didn't sneak anything in. Kobalt at that point was made by Snap-On. Even today if you buy Williams USA sockets, they are identical to Snap-On, just a different stamp and 1/3 the cost. It's common knowledge on GJ, which from the date you signed up, I'm surprised you didn't know. There are insane numbers of threads on this exact subject...

Maybe the OP didn't realize that and thought it was a hot deal. All I was saying is who care if the seller names drops a lot. A good deal is a good deal.

I did know these have been on sale for a while, but I thought others may not have seen it. $23 bucks for an Armstrong deep set is a hot deal where I come from. It seems some people on this board agree. The Kobalt set is actually very nice and if I have a choice between foreign or American manufactured, I'll take a USA made socket any day. To each is own.

I just received my order for these today. Great deal. I needed some decent 3/8" impacts. There were 13 left when I bought them. Only 5 now..

That's pretty basic with a lot of ebay & Amazon listings (especially when related to Williams).
I've found good deals on stuff I've never found before because of people naming brands in a title, and done it myself when selling truck brand stuff (IE: "Same as MAC, Matco, IR" when listing an air tool made by IR but re-badged by the trucks).
I've also found some screaming deals because of people that don't do it, since not as many people are searching for the industrial brands or Cornwell as are typing Snap-On, Matco, or MAC into the search bar.

I'd also like to thank the OP. I had been searching eBay and had seen the a Kobalt sets but never really looked at them since I had lumped them in with modern cheap Lowes stuff. After reading your thread, I ordered one of the five remaining sets of the shallows. I might just go assemble a set of the Armstrong deeps too, but I'm concerned what kind of combined shipping they will come up with. It looks like I have to commit to buying the individual sockets and then hope the combined shipping is a lot lower than the 30 dollars total when bought individually.

FYI, I just bought a shallow Kobalt set and a pieced together an Armstrong deep set, I also had about $60 worth of other stuff on the same invoice, $14 combined shipping for everything.

Yea that feature is a kinda hidden. After you have added everything to your cart, look at your cart. Look for Cripes ebay name. To the right of Cripes name is a button that says "request total from seller." That's what you want.

Thank you. I followed your directions on getting a total. I use an iPad with the eBay app, and there is no request total button I could find. I had to log into eBay through the Internet main eBay page and go through the process like you described. Now I wait for a total price invoice from them.

I'm not sure why but every time Cripe gets brought up here there is a lot of hate towards them. I personally have got some great deals from them and they fixed the biggest issue I had with them which was the shipping costs. It seems they finally started using flat rate boxes.

They have some Napa branded Grip-On stuff that is top notch at a great price too. I bought some clamps and am very happy with them.

Glad to see that a bunch of people here were happy with the deal. I've used the Hot Deals threads many times and am more than happy to post something, I think is worthy. For those that haven't purchased from Cripe and are ordering multiple items, you HAVE to request the invoice total or pay the full price for shipping. They have always gotten back to me with the new invoice total, within 24 hours. The new shipping total should be very fair. Shipping is not cheap these days.

Cripes invoiced me for 12 dollars combined shipping like y'all had predicted. All paid for and wrapped up for both the Kobalt shallow and Armstrong deep sets. Now I'll go sit by the mailbox and wait for them to arrive.

OP: Thanks. I was too late to get any of those nice impact socket sets but I did find a couple other things I needed for a fair price. Namely a nice replacement hammer drill jacobs chuck I needed and some deals on some router bits. Good to check out this place. Hopefully the combined shipping will work out for me. The feature should be there (although I don't have an ipad). My last purchase said over $30 for shipping until I sent a request, and they got back to me within a few hours and it was $14 for shipping. Had a huge box arrive 2 days later.

I'm in Idaho though (and used to live 2-1/2 hours away) so stuff shows up in 1-2 days, and the rates are great.

Got the shallows and some other stellar deals... Requested shipping total and was more than happy with that cost. It was shipped and got an email saying that they are refunding me 3 bucks for an overcharge on shipping... Crazy but sure. I am completely pleased with my purchase!
