I have a vfd that I would like to use with two IDENTICAL Drill Presses. I need plugs to connect them. I need two males and 1 female. The output is 3 phase and I am sure under 20 amps.

Twist lock would be L15-20, straight blade 15-20 for 240 volt.
L16-20 for 480 volt
These are 3 pole 4 wire.

I would definitely go with a twist lock style connector. They are very reasonably priced, and may even be available from Home Depot (I know they have single phase stuff, not sure about 3 ph). On the shelf at any electrical house.

The amperage makes a huge difference in the cost of the power cord. Unless those are monster drill presses, the amperage should be more like 5 amps @ 220 vac 3P. And check if you need 4 or 5 conductor. You may not need a neutral, and 4 conductor plugs/receptacles/cords are cheaper.
Verify the power requirements before buying anything.

We used the pin and sleeve connectors on our 3 phase power distros at school. Very expensive and not fun to repair.

We used a few L21-20 and L21-30 on some the old computers I worked on.
Yes, that old "iron" sucked that much power. Some of them had 1 hp 3 phase "air movers" (fans).

I recomended to you a L15-30 (R and P) in a PM a week or so ago to you.
Does anyone feel this is a bad choice?
It is for 3 phase 250 volt AC with a ground and is rated for 30 amp. I see no need for a Neutral on a three phase motor. This plug is also twist lock.
3 phase plugs are expensive. Have to look around for a deal, but they still will be a lot more then single phase plugs used in the home.

Yeah, I understand (the switch size).
Like I said before, the correct way to switch these would be with a 3 pole relay/magnetic contactor. Could use one 3pdt or two 3pst relays. I think the two 3pst relays would be best if going the relay route. this way they would both naturally go to off when the power was off. Unlike a reversible motor starter a interlock would not be necessary.
What size wire are you using. I would use 16 MTW. If you are using THHN or a large gauge I could see the switch not working. But i have not seen the switch.
If you can't find a plug and receptacle for a good price. The relays are not going to be cheap either. At some point you might just consider buying a second VFD. This would allow a backup if a vfd failed and you could have 2 operators if you wanted at the DP.
