BlueSteel shop looks sweet and I like your taste in cars. What sort of suspension changes are done to the 89 ? Road Race or Drag Strip?

Thank you!

The 89 is set up more for road race but nothing crazy, more of a cruiser. It has Eibach springs, Koni shocks/struts, 03/04 Cobra brakes front and rear, Maximum motorsports caster camber plates, and upper and lower rear control arms.

I also built myself a little workbench out of some spare lumber I had from the shop. I put my new age cabinets in it and hopefully it gets me by until prices on materials come down a bit.

Very well thought out, nice work. Love the air hookup in the outlet, might steal that one

Thank you and please do!

What else you got hiding?

Original owner of a 1980 Cobra under rehab/modification

I have the 88 notchback, 89 lx hatchback, 91 GT, and the 03!

Oh man that is awesome! Those are sweet cars! I have always wanted to buy something new and keep it forever.

Sounds like a nice set up. I would like to set up my 86 like that.

Awesome shop! That is a great look on the interior panels. What is the ball park figure on your shop?

Picked up this sweet old welding table with a Wilton 1750 on it. I swapped it out with my newer Wilton and am hopefully going to clean up the table a bit. It has a 3/4" thick top, casters that you can raise and lower to move it, and a hinge on the vice mount so you can swing it out of the way!

Finally got around to doing my air system. I found Northern Tool sold a kit that looked to be the same as the Rapid Air stuff but in grey which would match a little better. The tubing looks to be identical, but the fittings are different. The Rapid Air fittings are a lot nicer than the ones in the Klutch kit. Everything seemed to be interchangeable though. I ran a drop down at my work bench and welding bench and ran some piping up to a hose reel on the ceiling.

Don't mind the set up on the air regulator, some of it is for a future project!

Overall I am pretty happy with how it all turned out.

Your place looks great! I actually like the variations in the floors. Did you DIY the concrete polishing or have it done? If the latter, do you mind sharing the $/sf cost?

edit - Can you also share the $/linear ft or $/sf on the Lo Pro panels?

Air lines look great. What did you do to get the hose straightened out?

Thank you. I actually just rolled it out and worked it by hand. I am glad I didn't buy a straightener because it seemed to want to bend every time I hung it on the wall or lifted it up. I put plenty of clips up so that helped keep it straight as well.

Thank you! I paid a guy to do the floors. It was $550 for the densifier and polish and my pad is 960 sq ft.

The Lo Pro panels were about $4 a linear ft(they come 3ft wide). It was a little more to get them in the crinkle charcoal. I am really happy with how they came out though, especially the broom base and J channel, glad I spent the extra money on those.

Great looking space, really like how you did the steel lower part of the walls! I plan to do the same when finishing out my garage.

Finished up the air line to the outside outlet, I should have just used a 3/4 ball coming off of the manifold instead of the rapid air valve but I had already ordered them. Anyways, should be pretty handy! Don't mind the cracked outlet cover I need to figure out something better. I also made a few whip hoses for my drop legs with the flexzilla by the foot!

I also shortened up the hose to the reel since it was curling really bad when the air pressure went up and it bugged me!

Spent some time in the shop doing the clutch in the Cobra and installing the 26 spline input shaft on the T56.

The lift and transmission jack are seriously game changers. It made this job so much easier.

You are right about a lift and transmission jacks being a game changer. I worked off of jackstands for the first 25+ years of my automotive days and now the last 11+ with a 2-post lift and I hate it when I have something on the lift and have to use jackstands for even the simplest and quickest of jobs.

Would you mind me asking what transmission jack you have?

Thanks.

Great space! Envious of new place and high ceilings.
Thank you very much!

Haha I hear you, you get spoiled pretty quick with the lift!

It is just an Amazon special, leaves a lot to be desired but it does the job. I upgraded the casters because the ones it came with were terrible.
Your shop is coming along really good.
Thank you! I really appreciate it!

Nice. You'll love having the abilities to machine in your shop now. It opens up a whole other universe of things to accomplish. I added machining capabilities to my last shop back in 1997 and I've been hooked ever since. Love the little details that can be added to nearly any project and the Precision Mathews equipment are some of the best bang for your buck out there. Matt does a great job sourcing equipment and spec'ing them out.

Started to build my main work bench, I used my old costco trinity tool box, a couple new age cabinets, and some Durham bin drawers! I am waiting on some casters and should have a top for it soon!

Also build a little frame with casters for my blue new age boxes and cut to fit an old wood top for them.20221114_155456.jpg20221114_163009.jpg20221115_115035.jpg20221115_200826.jpg

Just read your thread for the first time. Fantastic shop you’ve built for your self. You do nice work and I really like how you are getting it set up. I’m sure you will be happy here for a long time.
