Thanks cfaas, no problem, there is a restroom in the far corner that can be accessed from both outside and from within the shop. The reason for the 2 exterior doors is so that I can leave the restroom open for an outside party or whatever. The other is the shop access. We have not used it much, it was something that I thought of when I drew the plans...

The bi-fold doors are covering equipment / tools / welder / ladders, etc. The shop was built to be a multipurpose room. Primarily my shop, and secondarily a party room.

Yet another great freakin idea!

This one's in my "Top 10" of all of the garages in "The Garage Journal". Lots of great ideas. My dream is a 30 X 40 detached. One day......

I got the peg-in hole drilled into the perimeter (40), the rebar cut and bent yesterday, and the concrete form built. Today is digging to the final depth and vapor barrier extended into the hole.

Very very nice job. I'm just a little confused by your layout. i noticed in one pic sometimes back 2 exterior doors right next to each other? My guess would be 1 is access to the shop the other to a closet? Maybe air compressor storage? Secondly all of the bi-fold doors? What is the reasoning for them? Sorry not trying to be nosey just intrigued.

Funny side note about the outside door in the restroom, when I submitted my plans to the building department a city planner decided that I didn't need the extra door and red-lined it off my plans as a correction. In my mind I was saying B-S, and it was still there on the second submission. Nobody is going to scratch out my building features without a fight. Just what they were thinking???

P Dude - Nice build!

You've given me the idea to put my compressed air behind the drywall in my build. Did you provide a provision for draining condensation in your air lines? I am struggling with how to do this behind the walls.

Thanks

It is a clean look isn't it. Yes I did provide drains on sub- sections of the system. The air lines run low inside the wall. Each outlet runs vertical so the water would need to climb up 48 inches. At the far end of each part of the system has a low point drain. I'm still working on how to setup an auto drain on the my compressor. Looking for one that is rated at 175psi.

I got the other concrete form finished and the second frame built. Sure eats up the weekend. I added hooks to the inside of the angle to anchor the frame in place.

Next to cross drill for the hoses and electrical.

Finally, wringing out the lifts. Can you believe the hydraulic schematic is wrong? Coming from China...

Need to get longer hoses. The hose store is closed until Tuesday:(

I had to buy longer hoses. They "Ever-Eternal" uses a British Standard connection and they had both straight and 90 degree fittings in stock. I was in and out of there in less than 15 minutes.

Slow progress, ended up in the hospital for a couple of days. Everything is good now should be discharged late today.

I had planned to lower the hoists in the pockets and drill the hole, but I may just take the dogs to the beach and lay low.

Some how I miss these threads and I wonder how I do. Page one down and about 9 more to go.

EDIT: I wanted to make sure I didn't lose this thread again, my reasoning for orginally making this post.

Such a nice, clean and well-planned out shop. Great lighting, cabinets and skylights to make it look even bigger.

I believe the only reason I would ever go back to California would to visit some of the garages here like yours and Don's. That visit would have to correspond with Ford's at Knott's Berry farm.

Thanks Nuttsgt, yah I'm with you, I'm just holding out until retirement and then who knows, this state *****! Weather is good, taxes and illegals ****. Of course that is everywhere there is agriculture. Need them illegal pickers. Actually the pickers are the good one, it is the ones that are on the system and keep adding dependants that are the problem.

I admire your patience with this build.

I hear ya about the way things are going in this great land, but doubtful improvement is coming soon.

I HOPE WHATEVER YOUR HEALTH ISSUE IS, improves. health is very important.

The F250 Super Duty is next on the load test. That should prove its strength. 3000kilos is 6600lbs just under the weight of my F250 (6,483lbs). Maybe I should check it with a scale first with and near empty fuel tank.

So from the surface of the concrete to the lift pad, what is that dimension?

Great build.
Thanks

The cabinet are mostly installed. They came up missing two doors. Material is on order and they should have them made and installed in a week or two. No hurry, lots of things to do, busy-busy-busy...

Ok, before I get asked why the upper cabinets are so shallow, here goes. I seem to forget the items that are elbow deep in a cabinet and with this design, I can't go elbow deep in the upper cabinets. It also allows over head lighting to cast light in front of someone standing/sitting at the bench and have enough room above the bench top to work.

Great build. Love it, and I am going to steal a few ideas.

I was wondering what the depth of the cabinets ended up being? I looked through but didn't see the measurement.

Thanks
