It rained its **** of for the last two days. We got back to work around noon today and got some of the siding up. We're going to start on the roof tomorrow.
Great looking build so far! Thanks for all the pictures, especially the one with the cars parked in. Gave me a good spacial representation. Meeting with builder on thursday for my 30x52!
That's about the same sf. I was worried that it might be to big next to the house, but now that's it's built I should of made it 60ft long. The attic trusses added another 800sf. Bang for the buck it was cheap square feet.
Here's some more pictures of today's progress. I got most of the building wired today. I'm going to pull the wire from the house tomorrow and call for the rough in inspection. I installed 2 - T5 lights man they are bright. I still have 10 more lights to install. Now that i see how bright 2 lights are I'm going to install the 12 lights on 3 switches.
I had the same worries about being to big next to the house. Builder came out and said the house will make the garage appear smaller and also our lot size is about 4 acres so that will help dwarf the garage. The attic Sq Ft is an nice bonus. I did 1/2 attic truss and 1/2 scissor so won't have quite as much room but enough hopefully. You have a really nice garage there! Keep the pics coming.
Finally got the concrete poured today. We ended up pouring 30 yards. There was enough left over to pour the sidewalk and a small pad in the back. It's 10 pm and the guy is still out there finishing it.
I am also very interested in your progress. My future plans are similar. I am especially interested in your loft and wondering what size the finished space will be, what was the cost difference between an attic truss and one sized for the loft, and the roof pitch? I'm checking back regularly to see updates on your project. Thanks
Sorry for not keeping up, it's easy to get side tracked. I still need to pour a pad in front of the doors. I was originally going to do it in concrete, but I decided to get some prices on doing it with pavement. I'm paying around $2.50 sf for concrete not sure what payment is going for. I have a bunch of updated pictures on my phone that I'll post tomorrow. For some reason my iPad will only post one picture at a time.
Can't wait to see the updated pictures. Can you give a rough idea of the foundation cost minus the brick. I'm planning for the block to be above grade like yours to get a higher ceiling height.
I paid $1.75 per block for labor, $ .85 per block, $75 for sand, $50 for H-ladder rebar and I don't remember how many bags of morter we used. I used 12" block for the first course so I could put the brick on top of it.
