Focus has certainly been on the house, and the shop has been languishing. We have trimmed out the garage, and it is ready for paint. I have ordered my lift from Bendpak, and Bald Head is working on my cabinets out in Oregon. I hope to have both in 6 weeks or so.
That "biblical rain" I have been reading about that hit Arkansas is headed this way, so this weekend was spent doing the final grade behind the shop and laying out curlex fabric and getting sod thrown this morning to hold the slope. I hope it holds or its $4k down the drain (literally). Here is the covered slope behind the shop:
Final grade had been brought up to the lawnmower/bike door:
Inside, the loft is ready for the barn door track hardware, and the baseboards and window trim is kinda in (the rest is waiting til after fitting the cabinets):
The view entering my office, window glass is on order:
And on the main house garage, we are finishing up the brick facing on the cinder blocks.
Now, for the not so fun part. I have my decorator suggesting a color combination for the walls. So in the pic below on the right are the colors of the Baldhead Cabinets, black and gunmetal gray. The floor will likely be a black/grey chip epoxy, the lift is black.
On the left is her suggestion, a gray on bottom, 4-6 inch red stripe (its a darker red than this picture catches), a lighter gray on top. She also suggested just a tiny amount of red chips in the floor to bring in the walls. I just am not sold on RED in my garage, or the stripe concept. I am thinking just pick one of the grays and go with it. Or do the bottom gray on the walls and the top, lighter gray on the ceiling.
It feels silly to be talking about all this decorating and picking colors in a shop...but I guess I need to.
Here is where you guys HELP?!?!
I did get to spend some time at Cruisin' the Coast this weekend over in Biloxi and picked up some pencil art for the walls and a couple of other decorating doo-dads. (And I am going to look at a 57 Thunderbird project I found in a barn in Mississippi to decorate the big area, but I really am not a huge fan of the car and would just be doing it to turn it).
