Thanks for the condolences...even with how much less she was moving around it feels weird not hearing her tags jingling. Also realized how much food she was clearing off the floor from the mini humans as the vacuum isn't getting it all lol.

And yes, you need a printer! Still a big Prusa fan but my next printer(additional not replacemnt) is probably being ordered in Feb and likely going with a Bambu Labs X1 due to speed and color change ability

Any plans for Saturday's game? I'll most likely watch it and work on something in the garage since I'm the only Alabama fan I know of in my little world in PA.

Stumbled upon them while procrastinating household duties on Marketplace, about 5 miles away, he had them, anchorsealed the ends and reportedly had been drying for 2 years but were just too big for his equipment and wanted them gone. So I helped a fellow garage addict/likely tool ***** free up space in his garage lol

And no...a lathe was not part of the deal lol...the next lathe deal I make will be for a metalworking one

That's a wonderful question...probably first is a resaw sled for the bandsaw...after that...no idea! Any suggestions?

That slice is 5/4 thick but has a long Crack running thru it but was more interested in how the saw was going to cut then anything and it's a very clean and straight cut and my rough adjustment on the fence angle for blade drift seems to be pretty close so super happy with that

Now to make a resaw sled for those larger ones and figure out what to make with it!

I got two trunk sections of black walnuts sitting in my driveway. Keep wanting to take them to the saw mill but I don’t make the time to do it.

It and white oak are probably my favorite 2 species. Grandpa has a lot of walnut stacked away on the farm so it was what I grew up playing with, next time we are back with the truck I need to bring some back up...first I should find/make room for it!

Good eye, it is the Kreg fence. Not sure how it compares to the current model as it came with the saw and seller said he bought it at least 3 or more years before then. Was easy to install even though it's designed for 12 and 14" models and the saw is an 18 so a bit undersized. I need to make a taller fence for it but that should be pretty easy, just have to figure out how I'm going to make it easy to attach/remove

Well thats not gonna end like I hoped which was for a close and competitive game. Coming up short on 4th and Goal from the 2 then Bama promptly scoring changed the momentum quickly! Will be fun to watch how your QB does in the expected transition to the pro's next year!

Yea, at first I thought Bama was being slow as usual. But if Kansas could of capitalized on a few more plays they would had run away before Bama would of woke up. Young is a hell of a QB but he had a great team to help him be that great too.

I’ll add him to the list of other QB I’m watching now like Jalen Hurt, Tua, and MacJones. But MacJones hasn’t been playing good.

Old school Fay and Egan with Dual 16" blades mounted on a rotating assembly so you just crank that wheel on the front to rotate between the 2 blades...no more excuse to not switch from rip to crosscut blade! Sliding table, bed tilts for angle instead of blade...but will have around 750 bucks for handling the 3 phase electric and the trailer rental to get it...

And it's just so stinking big and I'm already light on space

I've seen that one a bunch lately. It's cheap and a good start into vintage industrial. The only downside is the tilt top. If it were closer I'd be all over it.

If it wasnt for the lack of time due to the medical issue we are working thru it would probably already be in my garage. But with the far worse then usual project backlog I'm very hesitant to commit to another...it was easy to scroll past when it was over $1k...getting harder now and it's a 30 minute drive to it

I screwed up when not seeing the lower price earlier this week, my parents came up for the day and had i shared it with Dad, he would have brought the tilt bed trailer and it'd be on the way to the farm to upgrade the tablesaw in the farm woodshop.

Yeah....but I was well aware of that when I posted. All this would be simpler if I'd just stay off classified sites!

I did message to see if it could be viewed tomorrow....will see what comes of it.

If I take the plunge and it doesn't work I can sell to the farm for what I paid so I have an exit plan if it's too unwieldly. I think I need to see it to get some better dimensions and understand clearance for right side rip and the sliding table. Though if the right side clearance with that fence is the biggest issue I just do the possibly sacrilegious modification of converting the fence to wall art and putting a modern style front of table mounted fence on that doesn't need as much clearance past the right side of the top.

I would also be putting some type of overarm guard and dust collection in...though getting that setup to also clear or disengage for the tilting top may be fun. It looks like it had something mounted on it at some time as there is a receiver for a square tube on the back corner. With the roughly 6" max depth of cut, I could come up with jigs to hold smaller pieces at an angle and keep the top at 90 and minimize the amount of time the top needs tilted if that makes things simpler.

All depends on how serious you want to get into woodworking! I’m looking into reducing my woodworking footprint since I’m not serious, just minor hobby stuff. That could change down the road but if you’re serious I’ll be your new enabler! Lol

Well too late on what would've been a "for now" tablesaw but did bring home a small handtool bench



The top is 19 x 62, bit smaller than I was thinking in the pictures but large enough for me

First up will be removing the casters and building some riser blocks for it so the height matches the other bench, then it'll be taking a closer look at how to put a different vise on. Specifically An Emmert Patternmakers I've been hauling around for 4 years now. Right now it's in a rather undignified location.



But when mounted can do fun stuff like this:




Not sure yet where it's going to go, it may be dictated by the construction of the bench but the viable options are either on the end or where that standard quick release woodworking vise is. Either way will likely take some reconfiguring of the stretchers for the legs so the screw assy on the vise can swing down when it's tilted. I'm currently leaning towards the front position replacing the quick release vise....thoughts?

I was introduced to them by my Dad, he saw one at a flea market or show somewhere in a demonstration and loved it. Took him a year or two later to find one for sale but eventually did and after playing with it put it on my "one day" list

I had a standing Craigslist search for "Emmert" as well as one for "patternmaker" and one day when we were living in Chicago I got an alert and this was around an hour away. This was in what we joke as B.C time or "Before Ceci" who is our 4 yr old and it was the weekend so I asked the wife if she wanted a drive to the northwest suburbs...she said no so I said "Adios"! ahhh how carefree life was before kids lol

3 or 4 hours later I was back and had a new toe stubber to shuffle around the workshop and $350 poorer which admittedly was a lot for a vise I had no bench to mount to and no immediate plans to build a bench to mount it too...but eventually I would have the bench and when I did I wanted the vise to be ready. So its been shuffled around and moved to Omaha since then but at least now has a home for the near future

And speaking of that home, got the casters off and the vise wrestled up.....




Using the existing vise to support the outboard end as I see how it may look here



And a top view. Trying to determine the best location for it while still being able to reach the tail clamp that is mounted to the bottom side of the bench shown in that top corner. She's awkward and heavy enough it's not a ton of fun to move around....go figure!

I had mine mounted to what I called a Pedestal bench. I was building neck through bass guitars and the pedestal bench made getting to all sides to clamp easy. The pattern makers vice was really handy for all the sanding

I did see it when it got posted...and then killed an hour that night on OWWM looking at that model and that post.

Unfortunately I'm less interested in this one than the last(which actually sold this past weekend) as I'm not super excited about the inquisitive nature of my children and the early 1900's vintage machine gaurding....and that's a concern with it turned off! I think the used machinery gods are tempting me though as I was browsing things tonight while killing time with the father in law at a treatment and a medium stroke sliding saw came up an hour or two away....too large for my space and more than I will spend....but the hunt is a lot of fun

I just happened to notice the location when it was posted to the owwm fb group. That group is good and bad you see a lot of stuff, but if it's a good deal you need to be fast since everyone else sees it as well.

I'm guessing there are a lot more F&E machines around you after seeing this..lol

A medium stroke slider would be nice. I'm still passively looking myself. Something 72-96" would be about perfect. Fortunately or unfortunately the deals are on the 10' stroke machines.

Love to get your thoughts on the vise jaws and lining them with something or not? I've seen some that were leather lined, others with wood jaws and some like yours that are bare. Any feedback on how the unlined solution worked for you?

Was my first time there, super impressed and the staff was great. Haven't actually used the tracksaw rail I got there yet but definitely glad I made time to stop and will probably do it again next time I'm thru.

It's more so my wife. One of our kids gave her the spicy bug when she was pregnant and it never went away lol. She uses Cholula though.
