4 ft wide insulation question

I need about 3200 sq ft of insulation for the walls and ceiling of the garage I am building. About half of that is for the walls and the other half for the ceiling. My studs are on 2 ft centers and trusses on 4 ft centers. I asked for a quote for both 23" and 47" wide X 3 1/2 " thick unfaced batts and received a quote of $.35 sq ft.. But they do not sell 47" and said I could use the 23" double wide. The price is about 20% less than Lowes and Home Depot prices.
My question is, is this common to use double wide 23" between trusses in ceilings. I am using some salvaged blue board on the top truss chords so the 3 1/2 inch will be adequate for my needs.
Also just to make sure, I am planning on installing tin on the ceiling, so should I use faced or unfaced batts and if faced I assume the facing should be on the bottom?

I guess I left out one thing .... I am planning on running lathing 2 ft on centers across the bottom chord to mount the tin to that would also hold the insulation.

Personally, I am not sure using double wide rows of 23 inch will work. 23+23=46. The spacing between the trusses is 46 1/2 right, so I would have a 1/2" gap, right?

I think I just need to find somewhere that sells the proper width to fit between the trusses.
anybody?

The larger concern here should be why did you go 24" O.C. for the walls (not code anywhere) and 48" O.C. for the trusses (not code anywhere)? You said you are building the garage, correct? 48" truss span will not give the roof any sheathing support? Good luck in a strong Georgia storm.

Wouldn't it be easier to just have cellulose blown in. Forget trying to make things fit and the cellulose is more efficient. You can also have it blown into the wall cavity.

Uh. What? 24" OC walls is common. 48" truss span is a bit odd, usually we see 8-10' for pole barn spacing, and of course much closer for sheathed asphalt roofs.

Support isn't an issue since at 48" I'm sure it's strapped and steel on top. The larger spacings use purlins.

If you are at 24 O.C. for your walls then you should be framing with 2X6. 2X6 studs will put you at 5.5" batts.

dog I'm sorry, I guess the term garage that I used in my first post threw you. It is a pole barn with tin roof and I am adding 2x6 studs between 10 foot on center posts.

probably but I am using a combination of repurposed blue board and cellulose doesn't fit the budget

Johns Manville makes what you are looking for.

For metal buildings they make 36-92" wide unfaced batts up to 100' lengths.
