Speedy recovery dude! I'll tell ya my story.
First you need to know that I used to have a temper. A real BAD, short fuse temper.
I was doing the rear brakes on my sisters Cutlass. Must have been around '81 or '82. Summer. I was hot, didn't want to do this and was not using the right tools. Car was up on jack stands and I was putting the springs back on the right rear shoes. Using the female end of an 8" extension i was attempting to get the main spring back on. In a hurry, ready to be done and out of the summer heat I wasn't doing mush clear thinking. Having already torn up my hands and been mad at the whole deal, the spring slipped from the extension as I was pulling it up, curl style.
The extension and my hands hit me in the mouth. Knocked out one of my teeth and busted my lip pretty badly. Mad as I was, along with being embarrassed, I punched the car just above and forward of the wheel well. Just behind the B pillar. I was sitting on my backside bleeding when I did this. I knocked the car completely off of the jack stands! Thank goodness my feet weren't under it!
I was lucky. The dentist was able to reset the tooth. (I still have it!) I didn't need stitches in my lip. I DID have to pay to have the huge dent removed from my sisters car and I DID spend 6 MONTHS in a cast from breaking my wrist (scaphoid). Real smart huh?
Anyway, hope you heal quickly and try to learn from your mistake! (okay, some one else's mistake!) Good luck!
