They should replace it. I used one of their screwdrivers as a chisel, beat the end all the way down to the metal shank. They fixed it no problem. They didn't ask what happened either, just went in a box under counter with the other "warranty" junk. I wish I could've looked through that box...................

Speedy recovery dude! I'll tell ya my story.

First you need to know that I used to have a temper. A real BAD, short fuse temper.

I was doing the rear brakes on my sisters Cutlass. Must have been around '81 or '82. Summer. I was hot, didn't want to do this and was not using the right tools. Car was up on jack stands and I was putting the springs back on the right rear shoes. Using the female end of an 8" extension i was attempting to get the main spring back on. In a hurry, ready to be done and out of the summer heat I wasn't doing mush clear thinking. Having already torn up my hands and been mad at the whole deal, the spring slipped from the extension as I was pulling it up, curl style.

The extension and my hands hit me in the mouth. Knocked out one of my teeth and busted my lip pretty badly. Mad as I was, along with being embarrassed, I punched the car just above and forward of the wheel well. Just behind the B pillar. I was sitting on my backside bleeding when I did this. I knocked the car completely off of the jack stands! Thank goodness my feet weren't under it!

I was lucky. The dentist was able to reset the tooth. (I still have it!) I didn't need stitches in my lip. I DID have to pay to have the huge dent removed from my sisters car and I DID spend 6 MONTHS in a cast from breaking my wrist (scaphoid). Real smart huh?

Anyway, hope you heal quickly and try to learn from your mistake! (okay, some one else's mistake!) Good luck!

Did you go to the Sears at Ocean County Mall? I did notice they are carrying all the made in China full polish "professional" wrenches. I'll be very upset if I have to warranty my USA sockets for some Chinese paper weights. Good luck with the stitches man.

Prolly just get thrown out with my broken tool. Good thing im easy on my tools. thats ok my next big purchesses are all going to be snap on.

Damn you sears thanks for being a sellout. I hope someone gets the right idea to egg your tool stores.

Strange. I've been careful to watch for that, nothing yet. I have noticed it is printed horribly small on some sockets though. Would really be disturbing to hear that it's not USA made anymore. If you can get pics, I'm sure people would love to see the socket. :wtf:

Edit: Do you still have the plastic hanger the sockets come on? Does that still say USA on it? Just curious. I've noticed they changed the design on the stickers for some of these, but they still said USA on all of them, to my knowledge. Just a thought.

Deffinately this reminds me of when I was changing the oil on my dads suzuki sx4. I had my 3/8" gearwrench rachet with the appropriate 6 point socket (i beleive it was a 15mm but its been a while) got under the car and turned the ratchet. Nothing not even a budge And those gearwrench flex heads are long!

Took the ratchet off and made sure that i had it turning the bolt to the left. i did so i tired again and again. Both hands all my might nothing. My dad becoming more worried that I was going to hurt myself told me to forget it and we would take it to an oil change shop. "**** NO IVE ALREADY GOT IT JACKED UP AND ON STANDS IM DOING THIS!" I scream and I get the idea to hold the ratchet on the bolt with my left hand and bump the handle with my right and boom off it comes WTF!

Damn kids at jiffy lube must have put that thing on there hella tight or someone got a new impact for x-mas because I have never ever! had one that tight before. Not on a car anyways Granted thats not as tight as mobettas but still its a drain plug it doesent need to be tightened till it smokes then backed off 1/4 turn

Had the exact same problem once. I ended up using a floor jack to turn the ratchet. Actually lifted the car an 1/8 in off of one of the jack stands before breaking loose. Took care of that problem :)
