I'm neck deep in a 400 amp service upgrade that will go from the pole, to an outdoor meter socket with a pair of 200a disconnects/breakers (one to my home panel, and the other to the shop panel)
This is being handled by an electrical contractor and is permitted work in cooperation with my town electrical utility.
What gave me pause was the meter socket side of the outdoor panel /disconnect has a sticker that clearly says "for use with a 320 amp meter"
I asked my contractor, who tells me this is no big deal and completely acceptable. He mentioned that this is on the utility side of the panel and is to their code.
Any reason to doubt him?
