Around here the concrete is over $200/cuyd, and the rough estimate is double the material price for the finishing.
That slab has over 32cuyds, not including footing and all the other work.

This is why sweat equity, having the tools and knowledge are so vitally important to keep the wallet shut.

Will get additional quotes. The concrete guy also does his own site work. He’s poured slabs in the area for over 40 yearsIdeally you should get 2 other quotes.

My 24 by 40 garage slab was just under $10k in early 2020 just before Covid, so this sounds good, Mine included 2" foam and site work on an easy site.

Fortunately there are guys around here that will come and do a pour/finish for a Saturday cash side job.Around here most of the contractors won't touch it if they don't get to do it all. The main money is in the site work not the actual pour and finish work, plus they don't want to be held responsible for any issues that may arise due to poor site work.
If you know them and they know you, cash is the key. It may not work for everyone.

A little further east than I usually ventured but the water views are bigger in that part of the NN. Back to your situation, I was able to find a concrete finisher local to my area that did all of my concrete pours on my property. I had him do 4 separate jobs over about a 3-4 year period. I did all the base prep work and forms and estimated the number of yards of concrete. He would order the concrete from the plant so it would get his discount and I paid the delivery driver direct for the concrete. Crew did all the concrete finishing and slab cuts. I had good referrals on the crew and after the first job done I knew I would only use them again. All four jobs were 2 or more truck loads each and they considered that an easy day since they mostly did big commercial jobs finishing 75-100 yards a day. If you are confidant in your friends recommendation, I would ask the contractor for the latest jobs they did and do some follow up on those to be safe. I would ask him how much stone he uses for base since that area is mostly sandy loam.
