Welcome!!
1. Use ArcSite, SketchUp or some graph paper, and draw everything to scale and then play with layouts to see what works best. Someone on here posted that they used graph paper and then made cut-outs of items like lifts, cars, benches, storage, etc to scale and then moved them around on the graph paper to see what worked best for him.
2. What will your wall height be?
3. A layout/drawing of your shop positioning/location to other buildings like your house and driveways/street will help as well.
4. Some will probably recommend going over 40’ to give you room to park vehicles one behind the other. Maybe 45’ as 40’ can make it a tight squeeze for larger vehicles. 2 full size trucks will be over 40‘.
5. I’d recommend 12’ wide doors as 10’ can be a tight squeeze for full size trucks.
6. Maybe a door on the back side so you can drive through one of the bays if needed. And for additional air flow on nice days.
7. Insulated doors and insulated walls.
8. Air conditioning
9. If you put any lift near a garage door, I’d recommend a jack shaft opener for that door to give you more ceiling clearance. They are nice and quiet too.
