I'm erecting a 40x60x16 steel post building in western Wa state that will be used mainly for welding, fabrication, and equipment repair. After having done a bit a research here and shopping around the interwebs, I've come to the conclusion that I'm completely lost.
Well, maybe not completely, however...

Given the fairly moderate climate here in the sunny Pacific NW, I forewent radiant and plan to heat with a used oil furnace for the couple cold months that require heat. With the cost and potential for trapped condensation issues, spray-in foam is out. Prodex doesn't sound like a great deal with all of the problems that come with it, even given the price.
Which leaves fiberglass batts. Unless there is another, better, cost-effective option.
I'm leaning toward R11 sandwiched between the roof sheets and purlins, and R19 faced with the vapor barrier between the purlins and girts in the roof and walls.
The questions I have are
1: What is a reasonable price to pay for 2400ft2 of R11 and ~5000ft2 of faced R19? and
2: can anyone recommend a company to buy from local to the NW, or national who would be cost-effective with shipping?

I should mention that I will be erecting the building with the help of a couple friends who are experienced in the art.

Thanks in advance.

Hi there is a guy that regularly posts an ad for insulation on CL in the Seattle area. According to him it is a lot cheaper than HD/Lowes. It's all still in the packaging. I think he actually is in Kirkland or Redmond area IIRC.
Look in the "for sale", "material" section in CL. Hope this helps, worst case you can at least save on sales tax.
He has a lot of it too...

I'd offer the only people that consistently accuse spray foam of causing trapped condensation issues, are people who install other types of insulation. I've got spray foam on an enclosed pole barn (stick structure, sheet metal walls & roof) in the Florida panhandle and it came highly recommended from a number of people.

Jay is correct. I bought R21 batt from the guy at about half the price of home depot or lowes. I pulled up in my truck and trailer to a storage unit in Redmond. He pulled up in his Maserati. We loaded the insulation, I gave him the cash and he was gone before I got the load tied down.
