I'm erecting a 40x60x16 steel post building in western Wa state that will be used mainly for welding, fabrication, and equipment repair. After having done a bit a research here and shopping around the interwebs, I've come to the conclusion that I'm completely lost.
Well, maybe not completely, however...
Given the fairly moderate climate here in the sunny Pacific NW, I forewent radiant and plan to heat with a used oil furnace for the couple cold months that require heat. With the cost and potential for trapped condensation issues, spray-in foam is out. Prodex doesn't sound like a great deal with all of the problems that come with it, even given the price.
Which leaves fiberglass batts. Unless there is another, better, cost-effective option.
I'm leaning toward R11 sandwiched between the roof sheets and purlins, and R19 faced with the vapor barrier between the purlins and girts in the roof and walls.
The questions I have are
1: What is a reasonable price to pay for 2400ft2 of R11 and ~5000ft2 of faced R19? and
2: can anyone recommend a company to buy from local to the NW, or national who would be cost-effective with shipping?
I should mention that I will be erecting the building with the help of a couple friends who are experienced in the art.
Thanks in advance.
