VERY interested in a video of the 40x40' side
I am in the planning stages of a VERYsinilar build. 40x60 with 40' of it being the conditioned shop side with a lift, and a partition wall to the 20' side which will just be for storage. I was going to go with 3 12x12 overhead doors. And now I think you've sold me on a 12' partition wall door too.

Cool...that is very similar. I can do a video of the 40x40 side without too much trouble...maybe this weekend. The overhead door and man door in the partition wall were in the plans from the beginning because I knew I'd want to be able to move stuff from one side to the other without going outside. Obviously, I use the man door a lot more but being able to open the overhead door has been very handy. When we did the concrete under the lean to I realized how much I use the back man door to come and go from the 40x40 side as well....don't have to walk all the way around the building to get to a door. Anyway, I'll try to do an updated video this weekend and post back!

GMAN: you need to update your thread with a few of the cabinet and vise additions and other stuff you've found if you have some time. i bet it's starting to fill up fast.

thanks in advance for sharing and making me even more jealous of all that space you have.

Wow Gman, really nice shop you built. That is a dream shop, are you going to heat it, or at least some of it? Wood burner or gas? Need to send you a Bridgeport, you have plenty of room for one. Great job.

I'm late to the party, but congrats, nice build. Out of curiosity, since you have a poured foundation, did you consider doing a framed wall instead of post and girts?

Just found this thread, clicked on the link in your reply in another thread.
Great job on the build AND the documentation; I like to hear the backstories from around the GJ on property combinations, permitting processes, choice of building systems, etc.
Well done, sir!

Looking forward to seeing the pistol range...;)

GMAN: you need to post more pictures of your vises and other cool finds on your build thread here if you have some time. i found it on page 30 so hopefully you have a little time to post up a few pictures of your new green Snappy and other gems. also pop your head in and maybe take a look at and or ask a few questions on the Woodworking 101 thread so i'm not the only WOOD BUTCHER among the pros.

cheers

Awesome barn. I might take you up on that visit invitation to members. I have a Wilton Vise I am restoring (pics in my build thread, check my sig). I just got it, was passed down to me from a close family friend. I think it is a Wilton 746. I'd like to rebuild it, paint and and use! Is the phone number on your www.mivise.com site the best way to reach you?

Jeff
