Is there anything cast on the opposite side of the bowl from the "Ford" script? I'm working on a "Ford 7RT" carb, I got a rebuild kit from Dennis Carpenter. Their kit comes with all sorts of gaskets. Here's a link to the one I purchased...

Someone (Sweet Old Bill) just asked me about the valve horseshoe clip removal tool I showed in post 144. It's from the book" Rebuilding the Famous Ford Flathead" and is made from a piece of round or hex-stock. It has a tapered end with a bit of a hook, so you can insert it into the hole on the horsehoe clip and then either pry it (the horseshoe clip) out, or use a hammer to bash it out.
