****, I wouldn't have thought that the car would be totalled. Thank goodness for the track insurance; the deductible hurts but a lot less than the alternative.
Just leaving the as is for now.
May coat them with tongue oil or something like that eventually, but i dont want dust to stick to the wood.
Spent some quality time getting to know my C5 sunday.
Pretty close to getting the engine out. The C5 has been pretty nice to work on so far. Replacing parts to make the car durable for track use / abuse. C6ZR1 spindles, dewitts radiator with EOC, DRM shortstop package, SS braided brake lines, LG sways, PCV catch can, seats, 6point harnesses, ati balancer, blueprinted oil pump, APR rod bolts, and probably a bunch of other stuff I'm forgetting.
First real project with the two post lift. It is a great improvement from my mid rise scissor lift, but that still has its place as well.
My shop crane made short work of getting the rear cradle off of my transmission jack. The crane makes working by myself easier, safer, and my back thanks me every time I use it.
Then I hung the industrial curtain in the garage. I think it looks pretty good. I will reserve judgement on functionality, but it was less money than I thought it would be, and installation was pretty easy - took about an hour from unboxing to completion. The rolling ladder wins again.
The white doors do look pretty plain.
I may paint them to match the garage door, or replace them with something else down the road. That door decision was one of those things where I drew the line as far as mounting costs went.
Fully separated the C5 drivetrain from the chassis on Saturday. Made my wife take a standing in the engine bay pic.

Yeah, once everything was out, I definitely spent some time wiping up the floor.
I don't see that changing in the near term, but it can see that getting weaker in the future.
