Ok I have emails prepped and ready to send to the winners. I have my GJ post ready to upload to announce the winners. Next I need to put my flame suit on. Launching our own line of tool boxes is something we have been planning for a while now. We wanted to do something fun to launch it and time it with the holidays.

I hope no one is upset with our choices. One of the winners submitted their idea just a few hours ahead of another GJ member. It is for this reason that we have spent several hours today reviewing dates and times of submissions to make sure the first person to enter a name received credit.

Third Place: Busted Knuckle

Submitted by: Gath3r

Date/Time: 10/25/2010 6:52 PM

Prize: Montezuma SM200 Portable Toolbox
Originally we dismissed this name because of some trade mark issues. We all liked the concept and the name enough to do a little research. I spoke with Warren from “The Busted Knuckle Garage” and have started looking into a licensing agreement for some busted knuckle boxes.

Second Place: Warrior Toolboxes

Submitted by: Tim G. ***GJ Memeber NBRFD007 ****

Date/Time: 10/28/2010 9:57 PM

Prize: Montezuma SM200 Portable Toolbox
I am not sure if Tim is a GJ member. We will find out soon and update the post.

Grand Prize Winner: Titan Tool Storage

Submitted by: Vettman

Date/Time: Tue 11/9/2010 7:44 PM

Prize: MTZ-5621 56” 21 Drawer Tool Cabinet with Top Chest

We searched our records several times to make sure Vettman was first. Titan was suggested numerous times I will count them all later and post the total number of times it was entered.

Congratulations to the three tool box winners. Please respond to the emails sent so we can make arrangements to send out your items.

Titan is a safe choice, I'm surprised it's not taken.

Oh well I don’t have any tools anyway if I won I was going to ask all you guys to make a tool donation so I could fill my brand new Tool Crib (that was my suggestion)

Will the Busted Knuckle box look like this one? :lol_hitti

Those are some fine choices.

I actually considered entering with "Titan", but remembered that there's already a company making plastic Titan tool & trunk boxes. http://titantoolbox.com/ Not that it would have made a difference anyway, mine was probably in the last 20% group of entries.

Congrats to the winners!!

A legal argument could be made that they are two different types of boxes for different markets. Shouldn't be a problem.

Titan is taken. It is a series of truck tool boxes. Google is my friend.

Yeah, that's funny because it is the reason I didn't send in Titan. But hey, the streak continues. I am now zero for every contest I've ever entered. If I had won this would have ruined a 40 year streak.

Tell that to Monster Cable, who sues any business that tries to use "monster" in any way.

It just happens that I'm running a secret contest this week. If your GarageJournal name ends in "Envy" and you live in the domestic USA, PM me your full name and address to enter.

Just returned from shopping with the wife to find an email from Shannon congratulating me on being the winner! I've won very little over my lifetime so this is a great Christmas present. Now I'll have to start buying more tools to fill it up!! Funny I was just at Harbor Freight looking at their new 56" glossy red toolbox. I had a discussion with the store mgr. about accepting an older 20% off coupon without the fine print re: tool chest, generators, compressors etc. and he said he could not honor any coupons for tool chest purchases as of the 11th, so I told him I'd think about it.

Congratulations to the winners! Enjoy the prizes.

It is still my opinion that my entry of "Stought Tool Boxes" should of been the winner, but that's the way it goes. Well back to explaining to the wife why I need another tool box....

TheGrooveking

Did you mean "Stout Tool Boxes"? I'm not sure what Stought means... :headscrat

Gotta say, it was really tough coming up with some names really quick to be the first one to suggest it. I do like the idea of the top 10 most submitted names though. Give the rest of us insight to the general thought process of the collective.

Imagine my surprise tonight at around 8:00 pm when I heard a knock at the door and got an unexpected delivery. Open the box up to find 4 pairs of locking pliers, two magnets, and a Strictly Toolboxes hat. :bounce:

I must admit that I still would have preferred that they had chosen my suggestion of “Gibraltar Toolboxes” but the freebies were a damn nice gesture.

If this is any indication of the way Shannon conducts business Strictly Toolboxes is a first rate organization in my book. Thanks a million and I’m looking forward to checking out you new line of Titan Toolboxes.

What were the conditions that some would get the goodies? Random?

Basically the same thing in terms of definition, but since it is not in the dictionary, it is easier to copyright. Since words that are public domain are not copyrightable.

TheGrooveking

AAAhhh!!! I was trying to figure it the word Tough in the middle of it had anything to do with it. :bounce:

Great contest. This has to be the only forum I have been on and seen anything like this at all. Shannon how long before we see the name actually being used?
