So, million dollar question, what is a rough estimation of cost for a structure like that?

Thanks everyone for the nice comments. We have been working on a lot of small projects on the shop. The crazy lady has been all quit this summer and I hope it stays that way for good. But I have a few new pictures to share.

I'm jealous of everything your monster garage, your pizza oven and skill saw.

-Your Neighbor

With such a huge garage what will you be doing and working on in there?

I would wait on the flooring but if not done now it will have to wait till next spring. The product we are using is a very heavy duty industrial flooring system. Not giving up just want to start using it. As for what I will be doing in it not really sure what for all of it. But I do a lot of work on my own cars and trucks. Also I do a fair bit of metal fab and with the extra space I hope to start getting some bigger equipment.

Thanks
Bob

Nice build, after seeing the garage up with siding and roof on it, I doubt you will hear anything from the neighbor lady again, it looks great.

I agree, in the beginning it was looking pretty awkward and out of proportion, but the finished product is very nice looking from the outside (and inside). They should be happy someone came into the neighborhood and cleaned up that house. It looks way better than it did!

Just a quick update on the garage project. We have been mostly working on wrapping up the outside for winter. The driveway went in last month and the finally grading was done last weekend. We went with asphalt mostly because of the cost of doing a project of this size. The soil here is mostly all sand so this should help the asphalt last a long time. Here are some new pictures of the driveway. We are now working on insulating and hanging sheet rock in the breeze way. Thanks for all the great comments!!!

Thanks
Bob

Wow! That is just a fantastic build!!!

I suppose I could see the neighbors being unsure of your build if they thought you were going to scab together some shack of a garage/shop... but you have added a stick built structure that compliments the house amazingly well!!!

You've made the house and shop fit right in with the development next door. Kudos on a job well done!!!

maybe the neighbor is worried your place makes her place look rundown, great build, goverment needs to stay out of personal property that an individual pays taxes on:thumbup:

Great build!

I had no issues with the neighbors or RM with my build, but when I was looking for a house it was amazing how many restrictions are out there.

If it ever starts up again with your neighbor you could always post this sign;

This is what I was thinking too. Some people don't have the ability to see the finished product until it's actually right in front of them.

Very nice building.

I have lived several years now with a crazy complaining neighbor - I commend you for staying the course and going on with your build.

One question for you - how much of the build counts as "living space" and how much is considered storage space..... I'm intrigued about how you got the zoning / permits / etc figured out.

great looking build. if your garage wasn't so big I would have thought that you moved on the other side of my neighbor... as it seems we live next to the same windbag. or maybe they are just related.

Congrats! now it's time to relax and enjoy, I'm sure it was a very trying process.
