Nice build always good to have a little elbow room, I like the way you are handling your neighbor, it is probally eating her alive that your are not responding, just give her a smile and nod. When you are done with your build just pick up some nonselective fertilizer (the cheap stuff) and fertilize her yard and flowers/weeds about once a month for a couple of years(late at night or early in the morning) that will keep her busy mowing, pruining, weeding she won't have time to stick her nose in your business. I did that to my neighbor, we have large lots 280x280 they got crossways with the city and thought I was the cause. So his wife called on me, now she is to busy mowing to notice what I do.

OK, we've asked nice but it comes down to this. We need an update on your soap opera. If we have to antagonize your neighbor ourselves, we're not above doing that, but this is one of the most entertaining threads on here. Now keep us entertained damnit. Yes, we really are that petty.

In my city there was a new subdivision backing onto an old farm. The developers were wanting to give the farmer bupkiss for his land, so he kept piling up the cow manure right beside the subdivision, totally legal, because his side was zoned Agricultural (hehe) It didn't take too long for the developers to ante up. I think the farmer is living a comfortable retirement in Florida. This story kinda seemed appropriate here.

Hello, Sorry for the delay on updating. I injured my shoulder about 1-1/2 ago and was putting off surgery till the building got done. Well I pushed it a bit to far and by the time the weather was getting bad this winter I couldn't use my left arm for much more then writing. So about 6 weeks ago I got it all put back together and now I am in pt getting back to 100%. My neighbor is crazy as always but no new signs. Maybe now that the weather is getting nice the crazy will ramp up. We did get the Doors ordered and installed and a guy down the street wants the other building. The old building should be down by mid-may.

The doors are haas model 760 with r-16 rating. We are using liftmaster model 3800 jack shaft openers. I will try and get some more pictures this weekend.

Next we will be ordering the windows and starting the siding.

Thanks for all the great comments and I will work on keeping up on updates

Thanks
Bob

Good to see some activity again. Glad you are doing better.

In my rural subdivision all restrictions are in the property deeds. No HOA. No county code enforcement. If you have a ***** about what a neighbor is doing you have to get enforcement by suing. No history of that. Quarter mile away, in the city, it is all different.

We have been working for the last few days. The windows have arrived for the building and the siding is on order. The next few weeks will be busy. I have pictures and will get them posted in the next few days.

Thanks
Bob

Subscribed for crazy lady antics. Nice build! You know, the garage is so big you could have added a few windows and it could look like a house from the outside!

That looks like some great progress!
However you have neglected to update us on the most important thing here: What's up with the crazy neighbor chick, and have you parked your deuce in front of her house signs yet?

Makes me glad the nearest neighbour is almost half a mile away. And thankful for the power of liquid manure in resolving neighbourhood disputes.

I just love this post, been following it since it started. In my neck of the woods my neighbor to the South (1/2 mile) built a HUGE shop on his farm last summer, something like 80x300. Then this summer my neighbor to the North (1/4 mile) is currently building a shop that is 68x72 or something like that.

It will make my build look tiny in comparison to either, when I get to it.

This is one of the reasons I live in the country, thanks for the updates an keep the pictures coming.

I just stumbled upon this thread - great project. I had a few issues with a couple of neighbors as well. I now put electric dumps on the headers of all my cars and make sure to run open headers when I enter and leave. My long driveway is great for burnouts as well......................

What was the reason for the offset door on the big section? Did I miss that while LMFAO on the neighbor tales?

Thanks for the comments, Its been hot but we are slowly making progress. The reason for the off set door is that side is the work shop the other side is storage. There will also be a window to the right of that door. The siding is going up and should take a few weeks. Here is a few pictures from the last weekend.

IMG_5235.jpg

Siding going up this is Hardie plank Because I was building this close to a sub that was full of nice houses I wanted the building to look sharp.

IMG_5223.jpg

Working on the front of the house replacing the window and sheathing. There was no insulation inside the walls.

Thanks again for all the comments keep them coming.

Thanks
Bob

We went with a 1/2" of thearmax and 2" of blue board this should give us a R-12 rating.

IMG_5245.jpg

Getting ready to put the window in. I am looking very tired because its been in the 90's the last few days.

IMG_5253.jpg

New window going in

And for fun the dog running around.

Thanks again for all the great comments keep them coming. I am sure in the next few weeks we will get some new stories from my friends next store.

Thanks
Bob
