Lets see . . . that comes out to $83.45 . . . Hmm . . . list price is $96.00 . . . that's a grand total savings of $12.55!!! Wow!!!

My measly little $25.00 max bid didn't even stand a chance. :(

Those 3/8''Drive long flex-heads are the ones that get extremely high up in bids; it just so happens that I need one too.

Can a rebuild kit be had at reasonable cost ?

On the face of it, this, looking likely to end up at about $30 all in, could be a bargain.

SO has the a locking version of the FLF80 now, the FX80. I haven't gotten from my SO dealer yet, but he ordered it, and it's actually $5 less by list from SO. It was probably the price for the FX936. Get it while SO keeps the snafu up! ;)

Yah take it t o a truck and it is free, Or snappy will charge $10.00.:shocking:

I know they will * warranty it, I had, perhaps wrongly, assumed that anyone looking at new Snap-on on Ebay doesn't have easy access to a truck dealer.

*'if you catch your guy on a good day' may need to go here

I wouldn't pay $2 for one like this model anyway, they basically have the same guts as a Craftsman. The pawl doesn't engage the face plate like the F730 or the F830, there's more than 1 reason SO calls these maintenance free, they don't want people taking these apart.

They are not the same guys as a Craftsman by any means. Plus, who cares whats inside as long as its very strong and feels right?

I buy my tools to use them, Merkva has already admitted he just buys snap on tools, and rarely uses them (perhaps he deleted that post!), you guys who are more worried about a tool's internal makeup, and how well they actually work when you use them, really make me wonder!

Could you please explain that a little further? This kind of stuff fascinates me. :)

I'm worried about the internal makeup because I DO use them. The new style SO ratchets are for a FACT closer in design to a Craftsman than the older SO ratchets, the only difference being the reverse lever. The face plate support is what set SO apart from other ratchets.

On the older(F830 series and older)SO ratchets the pawl had "*******" on both sides giving it support from both sides of the head. On the F830 series the back plate is countersunk(is that a word:headscrat)for the ******. This is just my opinion, from my experience.

Have you broken a 936? If no, were you using a cheater or using it past the limits of a 3/8 ratchet?

Yup, snap on sockets are extremely over priced. But you can get awesome deals on them on ebay, often very lightly used for a third or less of retail.

No, truth be known I just like to argue, and it's easier to do it on here than with the ole lady. It's :beer:thirty boys!

Yah because I have broke a ton of craftmans ratchets and very I mean VERY few snap on ratchets, They might look close in design but remember a terd and a milky way dont look much different either. Would you eat both??? That there lies your anwser. :pimpflash

FLF936 vs FL936??

Is there a big difference in strength/longevity of the Flex Head ratchet as opposed to the standard?

I think you mean a turd and a Baby Ruth. Your homework tonight is to review Caddyshack....
