Twertsy that is amazing.

Beat, one closer to your mission to own all the vintage Gerstners in the DC area

No **** Drake.......good news is he didn't have that model! And, it was real, which I was extremely worried about given what I paid for it at a garage sale, full of all those tools......

I'd like to thank Rory_Bellows for my amazing gift! Everything made in the U.S.A.! Williams spanner wrenches, snap on mini test light, couple few carbide tipped bits, awesome wooden hammer, mini oiler, and for the life of me I can't think of what that 8 piece 1/4" and 3/8" drive set is, I can't put a name on it...

But it was my first SS, and definitely not my last! Learned a lot, and know how to do better next time!

Merry Christmas everyone!

My SS was BFBOB. He certainly sent an impressive haul! Thanks a bunch! It was also educational because I got to research and understand the vintage wrenches a little better. It's super awesome. I had a blast.

A tool bag, cut off wheels and tape for the shop. I have kind of a bag fetish, so that hit the mark. A 2015 Jeep calendar, some nice rigs in there..

Williams No 34 DOE wrench. I was intrigued by the size markings, that's the biggest 5/8 of an inch I ever saw ! So research taught me about the origin of the wrench in Brooklyn, the old timey sizing conventions and the age of 1914-1924- 100 years old ! Cool as heck. Learned a bunch.

And the Billings & Spencer Model G 11 auto wrench. Research ( and a note from Bob ) tell me that this wrench has a production era in the late 19-teens and is indicative of the models later spec'd by the government for the Willys. It's already on my mantle paying homage to Jeep, American and tool history. It will be a conversation piece when my buddy Travis comes in to town.

Hey k-os thanks for the SS gift! Just opened it up LOL. The cheese curds and sausage look tasty but I am already stuffed from Christmas eve dinner and will try them tomorrow. The Dunlap vise looks like a nice little project and I appreciate the Amazon gift certificate too! This was awesome for my first GJ Secret Santa! :rocker:

Waiting for my SS victim to open up their gift.

My Santa didn't leave his GJ name, but his fist name is Mike. Either he is an awesome guesser, or he found my amazon wishlist. Either way, he got me three things and they were all three on my wishlist!!

Pictured below is the very nice gun cleaning mat, ammo box and Williams ratcheting screwdriver. The 1911 is my IDPA gun and was not part of the present!

Thanks Mike!!!!

That was me. I read some posts of your interest in a car tool kit and of ratcheting screwdrivers. And you mentioned hobby shooting and i thought what tool loving american from wyoming doesn't have a 1911. Glad to see if was right on the 1911.

(BTW, I figured since I was still up at midnight I was good to open it tonight. I just couldn't wait for morning)

This thread is as much fun to read as watching my kids (21 and older) open their presents! Keep 'em coming!

I have to wait for everyone to wake up before I can start. This is worse than when I was 5 and my uncle would make us wait for an hour while he shaved!

Have fun opening folks!

I opened my stuff this morning....

Thank you Arnaud from France.

.....an absolute haul of Knipex pliers.

I had wanted the Cobra pliers but couldn't justify the expense...so I bought the Irwin copies...and wasn't as happy with them. He got me the 10 and 16 inch Cobra pliers, a perfect gift.

Also got a Knipex 7 1/4 pliers wrench. I actually have the 10 inch ones and use them all the time, these will compliment those very well.

.....and a pair of Knipex compact bolt cutters. They look like they will be extremely useful.

Got a SAM nut driver, 4mm wrench and allen driver. I really like the fact the wrench says France on it...

Also 2 Wiha phillips bits and a 7/16 SnapOn wrench.

I couldn't be more pleased....thanks Arnaud.

I want to give a big thanks to my secret Santa FJ 432 for going above and beyond!!! I've been looking at this huge box taking all the space up under my little tree wondering what could be inside. Let me say Santa hit a home run for me, Where to start -a cool Italian safety sign that reads work in progress no maneuvers allowed. Love it! I already have a great spot to hang this picked out. -a repair book for bicycles along with a giant cow bell (so cool. It will be a big hit at the next Baltimore bike party I go to) -this awesomely comfy beanie from Never Summer. -nice set of wobble extensions and a compleat set of adjustable wrenches 4-12". I've been needing to add These to the box and they will be put to good use.

To top all this off were a few stickers that will be added to my growing collection and a great letter from Randy. Truly you went above and beyond for my first go around on this secret Santa ride. I def have a ton of good karma to pay forward next year.

Merry xmas

Thanks to my GJ secret Santa Specerian for the GULF garage bling and the FORD keychain. I actually was trying to grab a FORD keychain at a charity event with one of those crane arcade games. Everyone else was going for the IPHONE or IPAD but I spent $5 trying to get the keychain....I guess I am a WINNER. Thanks Spencerian.
Merry Christmas All.

Looks as if Travis did a bit of research about me.
A mix of old and new, handy and handsome, all greatly appreciated and will fit in beautifully here on the prairie.

Thank you Travis.

Merry Christmas all!

Thank you to my SS. He did a fantastic job. I don't know if he used my hints, but he did go back through my past post to find some great gifts. I have already enjoyed some excellent rich J. Rene' coffee and the Pineapple Habanero Jam on a ciabata. I shared with my wife... she said thanks also.
The shaving lube and ratcheting wrench will be put to good use soon.

Many thanks to CalebT for the great Christmas present - he did a little research and found out I like vintage tools, and own a Willys CJ-3A that I will eventually get to. He gave me 3 Plomb wrenches (I LOVE Plomb!), a vintage Proto wood-handled screwdriver, a Blackhawk DBE, and a repro tin Willys Sales and Service sign for the shop. Very cool gifts, thanks!

After reading this thread I believe Aaron Kelly was my SS. Thank you VERY much for the gifts!! I was actually looking to buck up for a set of new screwdrivers. Thanks!! I also like the Wright tiny 3/8" ratchet for those hard to reach spots often found in a Toyota engine bay. I just put an alternator in my They will all be put to good use.

Wishing everyone on Garage Journal a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and a Happy New Year!!!

My SS was teamartic. He sent a Stanley tape measure, a nice pair of pliers, some grippy tweezer-things (not sure what the technical name is) and some scratch-off tickets. I was confused as to why he sent $1, but the note explained that it was for postage so I could send the tickets back to Michigan if there were any winners. Sadly, there were no winners, so I'll spend the dollar on a local scratch off ticket and hope for the best! :D

Oh and almost forgot, he sent two amazing calendars... one of cars and one of scantily-clad girls! :D:D:D

I would like to publicly thank Michael for his generosity!!!! He sent me a wonderful biography on Carol Shelby but more than that, he sent a very generous check to support a charity that I care deeply about. I'm going to match his donation and send it all off tomorrow.

Michael, if you ever find your self in the San Diego area, I'd be honored to buy you a drink.

Thanks and Merry Christmas to all.
