Today i stopped by and ordered another HF blue cabinet. I think it's silly they don't let you order what you want all at once, since you can just come in the next day and get another one for the same price. Now the waiting game starts. I'm getting the steel for the workbenches next friday since i took the day off. I finished the electrical outlets along the south side of the building yesterday. Today I'm going to move the stereo to the workbench area and start setting up for the new workstation.
Once that's done, i'll go back to cleaning up and organizing. I had a guy contact me locally about some bins for the organizers, we'll see if they look like they can be used or not. Hope so. I love private deals that makes everybody happy.

I knocked this together today and got it painted. Should be able to hang it tomorrow.

Would have done more but had mom here most of the day.2abec7ffb5556d310f151c775c16cea8.jpgbbf0cedbc0a8675e95cccd2fbcb9ae60.jpg

It's a wonderful thing. Just checked with hf on my tool chests. No truck today. Guess only Tuesdays. Bummer.

I love having a record player in the shop. Having to turn over the record every 10-15 minutes seems to keep me from hurting my back.

I need to add some windows. Or maybe put in a glass garage door.

Just swapped out the fuel selector valve on the truck AGAIN. took a bath in diesel. Junk Chinese valves are everywhere. Looking for a good used oem.

And calling around for steel tubing. Insane pricing at alro steel. I don't know how those guys can sleep at night.

My Dad thought he had a bad fuel pump on his 7.3, replaced the pump (after having the truck towed off the highway), no luck, spent half a day troubleshooting.............. Yup, bad fuel pump right out of the freaking box, he was not happy at all.

So the story is, the oem valve is made by pollak, and retails for about 300. The Chinese figured out they could make a ton of them and sell em for about 50. I saw them on eBay and figured pollak was back door white boxing em. Nope. Chinese. The first one lasted about three switches. Then stuck Midway, causing super high fuel pressure and surging. I gave negative feedback and the chinglish guy in Cali begged me to reverse it and let him send another. Ok fine. But I'm not switching it. Only placeholder until I find a real pollak valve. The giveaway on the valves is the parting line on the clips on the real one is invisible. The Chinese one, they didn't bother to match the mold edges and you can see the parting line. Wish I paid attention better. Ugh.

Nope. Most Fords up to 97 had dual tanks but they are all 20plus years old. Same valve at least up to 2015 super duties, but dual tanks are rare on sd.

Found a new spot for the fasteners. And the mini fridge I got from dads garage. Room above for shelves and it makes the shelving unit beside a little harder to use but I'm out of room so will have to do.

I really need the tool chests. I need to put things away bad.4e979626bf13fe76bedc5b3ce4cf75b5.jpg5d6557e539ffcc483dee51e6d078babf.jpg033c4db7ad1cf03dab8379cc5279e40b.jpg

I have a few location like that, you will find something that fits in the back area that doesn't get used very often. Then you will forget about it, then you will buy more, while trying to put it away, you will see the original stuff.

Just telling the truth.

What about setting up the shelving so those drawers are in the shelves? I have no concept of the dimensions, but the way I would probably do it would be to modify the shelving so the two cabinets were on the end with the drawers opening into the shop. Also I would put them up on a pedestal so my back wouldn’t scream at me.

Also, sorry for any ideas, I have been told that I am annoying, I can find a “better” way to do anything, it is part of my a$$hole personality traits. I don’t come up with the ideas, I just tear them apart trying to make them perfect. :(

I thought about that, but I think those shelf units will get heavy enough to crush those spindly things. It's definitely not optimum, but it's better than what I had. I need to remember not to be a perfectionist. And we can't all be lilscorpion... Lol.

Not a problem. I'm pretty easy going most of the time.

Got all the lumber moved, charged a buddies a/c and got the first panel moved. It's wider than I thought. Any problem with this much overlap?922af3288601023015f904fbb4b5de7b.jpg

You may have to do some fancy trim work on the inside, but I don't think it will cause you any grief other than trying to seal the sides up. Make sure and install some good weather seals and it will probably need almost nothing on the inside.

My biggest problem is there's a couple of sockets on the left side that really wants to hold the door towards the right, and when i push the door right enough to clear the tracks want to run up into the light on the ceiling. I might have to limit the height it goes up.

Yeah, i don't think that will work. It's pretty standard stamped construction, i'd end up with a mess i think. I think i will just install as is, and if i ever need to add a door to the right, i'll just order new panels and make em right length. This will work for now, and if the door goes in front of the light a little i'll survive.

I left a space in the back wall of the shop for a second garage door. Since I had everything pulled off the wall to get to the plywood to build the stereo cabinets anyway, I moved the rest of the lumber to expose the hole where the garage door belongs. Once it's installed, it frees up another section of wall on the north side for other things.

The only problem is that there is a wall in the way...............

All I could think of is "you make a better door than a window"
