Whup, time for an update. I've been swamped both at work and at home. I apologize for anyone following, i haven't even been looking at my normal haunts, such as Strouty's thread and many of the others i enjoy so much. So a basic update:
Winter is fast approaching, and i've been trying to wrap up outside. In the spring, when the ticks went nuts here, i found a website that said that Guinea fowl would eat them like candy. so i ordered some. min order was 15 birds. Then, like 20 weeks later, they showed up. It takes that long? Apparently there was a run. Whatever, now i have this **** to deal with. It's August and i didn't have anywhere to put them yet, so they went into a big water trough we had. Fast forward a few weeks and it's September and i have to get a larger shelter for them. So i spent a bunch of time building an outdoor chicken run. That's finally done and they are in there, then i had the madness of my kids' truck and blown head gasket. A month in the shop that was. We finally got it nailed, and he's been driving it this week.
And lastly, i have been trying to get final locations set for the 4 post lift in the shop. That's been a cluster because the boiler isn't on yet, and i only have a small electric element as backup to heat the 100 gallon tank and then about 2 hrs to dump the heat into the slab, one circuit at a time before the heat doesn't register. BUT, the wife and i finally got a placement of all the posts that avoids ALL tubes in the floor and i can run all the anchors without hitting anything. So that's next on the agenda.
I hope to post some photos this weekend of anchors going in. Stay tuned.
