Great! photos!-Great story!--There is a bright side* where peace is on the other side!
Thanks, I am blessed. Next time I go to the shop, it is Fairlane time. I have some new friends who are wanting to help. There is something that beats deep in the hearts of car guys. 1st thing get the donor 289 out and fresh. I will post some pics of the boys sidecar my dad built. P.S. I still miss that man.Just catching up too. I love the shop and the Fairlanes. I am sorry to hear about your Dad. Sounds like he was a special man that loved his kids. Cool that you guys got to spend a lot of time together and made great memories.
Back from Oklahoma. I never get to work in the shop, I just get to work around the shop. So ready to start on the 64 Fairlane. We have been cleaning out Dads house, which means the shop is filling up with odds and ends. Random tools and screws and .....Neat photos man! Keep it comin, and keep crackin!
All is well at the shop. I have had zero time to work on the 64 fairlane. I own the house next door to the shop ( mom and dad built it when I was a kid) which we rent. Our renter moved out and we have been working on the turn around. We have put about $10 k into the house. The shop has been great to store rental repair supplies.I love the story, thank you for sharing it with us all. Any updates?
I will be pulling my step fathers 66 f 100 over to the shop soon. Going to check the compression and start the 289 before I pull it out. If it runs okay, I plan on getting the Fairlane running and everything mocked up. I have a t - 5 out of an 88 mustang. But I was thinking about just putting a AOD ford in. I want to widen the wheel wells just a bit as well. Once I am happy with everything, then I will pull it all apart to send out for paint. I figured I would rebuild the 289 while it was away.
Should be fun, my wife wants to help with the engine rebuild. Her first car was a 66 Mustang. The engine is the one thing they didn't rebuild on her ride.
