Brake spring pliers for drum brakes, and the red handled screw driver thing is to remove the retaining caps off of drum brakes also, then there is an brake adjustment spoon in the upper center, and another diff. brake spring tool in the upper left, so I sent you 4 brake tools (a full set for drums). Does your father know much about tools? Any other questions feel free to ask, We are all here to help, there is no dumb questions except the ones you don't ask...Rich
( purplez, remember they are restoring a 60's mustang, If stock it will have drums on it.Rich
The bent tipped screwdriver is for cotter pins, but it will help loosen radiator hoses with out damage, if you are careful.

Very nice!

I'm the same age, and I would advise checking out the hot deals catagory, there are some fine deals that get posted.

I too have a HF box, nothing wrong with that. IMO SO isn't worth it for sockets and such; but in the ratchet and screwdriver dept. they sure are.

schmoldy, I hope you are having fun with this. Is there any thing you don't know what is or what to use them for? Your screwdriver rack is very cleaver. I like it. Rich...
You might have to post another pic of your tool box now...lol

as said they are for drum brakes to help remove the springs. I never used them but bought one for my dad. We always used needle nose pliers and screwdrivers. When I go visit in a few months I have a bunch of little goodies for him.

Get in the habit of only paying cash in full for the truck tools you want and you'll be ok.
Don't fall into the credit trap. It will consume you and put you in a financial bind if you leave the shop.

Well it looks like you are starting to get quite the collection, looks like you need a tap handle to go with the taps that Jeff sent you. What else comes to mind? Rich How about a pic of your tool cart closed so we know how many drawers and the layout. That away your description will make more sense to us.

Here is a pic of the extra tools I have. Let me know what you want. The nutdrivers are Powerbuilt SAE, the Tongue and groove pliers Kobalt. Most of the sockets and wrenches are Craftsman - too lazy to look through and list them. Screwdrivers are Craftsman - I have over 20 more screwdrivers, but in fairly used condition. The other pliers are a mixed bag, one is a Knipex, but the rest are probably China COO. I will have more tools available as I edit my tools over the next few months.

I also have a 3/8 " Craftsman socket wrench (made in USA).

We all started exactly where you are, by all means keep at it.
I could recommend the purchase of used SO tools, the price is a bit better, but do not limit yourself to one brand. After experience & use you will find a brand or style that fits your needs perfectly.
The approach to collecting is as varied as the many brands out there.
Garage sales, local auctions, (some) pawn shops, with the advent of the inter-web, your choices are endless. Set a price you will be willing to pay & can afford & stick to it.
The only advice I can offer is don't limit yourself, be willing to try any brand or style. Do your research using online catalogs to learn as much as possible about each type or brand prior to any purchase, this will help you resist the "temptation" online to bid higher just to get that one.
Be patient !!!!......you will soon learn another one will come along, sometimes even a bit cheaper. Above all .....have fun & enjoy yourself.

I think most all of that will go into a large pay one price priority mail box, If you want to ship it to him, I would be willing to go half on the postage to help out. Just let me know. I think he don't have any of the flair fitting wrenches that I have seen in his posts, Nor the long handled pliers. I have been trying to get the ball rolling to help this kid out. Like I said if I can help with any thing just let me know...Richie

Richard thanks for the offer, but don't worry I have it covered. Thanks for spearheading this effort of paying it forward!

Richard, I know you are keeping track. I heard from the OP, and so from my photo I have packed up, and will send out on Monday:

Kobalt T & G pliers set
Kobalt Linesman's pliers
3/8" Craftsman ratchet wrench
flair wrenches
a bunch of Craftsman USA screwdrivers
End cutters
Knipex needle nose with stripper
Long handled pliers
3/8" extention

Unfortunately, none of my extra sockets fill in the holes on his list.

Thanks again for jumping on this idea.

I held off on sending out my box because I came across this set of Wiha pliers that I thought the OP would want me to add. There is enough room in the box. They are brand new - but redundant with my other pliers that are mostly Knipex. Still really high quality German tools. Just PM and let me know, and post it here too so Richard can keep track:
