I have wanted cabinets for a while and have been searching , but i wanted everything to match, so no good used deals for the size i was thinking, everything new is overpriced, under-built, cheap garbage.
I was at my favorite local MRO surplus supplier picking up a braking resistor for my big lathe, when he asked me if i was interested in a smokin deal on 116 18x36" steel shelving panels. It clicked in that somehow I could make cabinets out of these.
I picked em up for next to nothing. Follow along as i turn them into something pretty cool.
That was the 116 shelving panels I started with
Assembled a cabinet, made a jig to set them up quick, used pop rivets and sheet metal screws.
hung them on french cleats off the back panel lip
42' of cabinets - 36x36x18"
