In the past 12 months, our traffic has doubled... Almost exactly... Which is cool, but you know what's even better? The number of deleted posts in that time has been cut by 2/3rds... Good god, that makes me happy.

Thank you fellas. For everything.

I have noticed that as well...very few closed threads. Is it from guys smartening up or a culling of the members?

I too appreciate the forum and I'm not even a forum or social media guy. I don't do facebook and originally thought I'd get whatever information there was here during my garage construction and take off. The garage has been done for about 2 years and I'm still addicted. I would have chosen a different user name if I had known I was going to be here this long.

Thanks
Richard

This is a great forum, and I have noticed some changes in the social dynamics of posting "styles" as well in the fairly short amount of time I have been here (14 mo. +-). I think partly its getting rid of trollish members, but some trolls appear to have left on their own as well, and some have modified their posting habits.

There has also been pressure, both from the moderator team and some of the membership, to keep fairly clear expectations of what is acceptable, and what isn't, and that helps a lot.

Whatever the drivers, I think it's all good, and Kudos to Ryan and his moderation team for their efforts to keep the place rolling along! It's a great place on the internets! :D

Ryan, thanks to you and your team for an awesome site. I really love it here and I've learned so much in a short period of time. My tool collection has doubled in a few short months and I've been motivated to keep my shop clean.

I really enjoy learning from all the people here and I really do respect each and every member even if I don't agree with some. :D

Thanks again for all you do!

Ryan, I've gotten alot of great help and information here on garage related issues, and that's what brought me here initially. In spite of the fact that most of my posts are now in FP, I still find myself lurking in other rooms (e.g. my recent plasma cutter thread) and "meeting" some really interesting and knowledgeable people.

Thanks for such a great site.

Of course, with the new kinder, gentler Free Parking, I haven't seen Vishnu in awhile.

This is one of two sites on the internet than anchor my life and keep me sane...well, anchor my life anyway!
A great place to learn a myriad of things and a chance to help others by sharing what you know, which is even more satisfying.
Changed my life in a number of ways.
I count on it daily for information and entertainment. Great bunch of people and the mods keep it down to a minor riot. It would leave a gigantic hole if it wasn't here.

I was only on one other (car related) forum before I found this one kinda by accident. I'm on a couple other car forums now but this is the only one I really participate much in. The camaraderie is great on GJ. There are some pretty funny people here too. And talented ones too. Garage Journal has it all! Thank you.

I thought I noticed something different.

I originally joined GJ and posted little for a year or so. It was plainly a rough neighborhood and not worth the hassle to me to reach-out to the community.

My family used to run a business years ago. My Dad would tell the few slug patrons we had, that "For every bad customer I run off, two good ones will take their place."

That's what I noticed. Thanks for the "Re-Boot".
