yea but this one is different then just the regular clear ones that pull anywhere from 150-300, it is the clear "racing edition" with signatures, its pretty cool but not $800 cool

When you have something rare, the only crazy price is one low enough that it sells quickly.

Clear or sigs mean zip to my needs, so my limit on a Snappy ratcheting screwdriver is about $20, which I assume is also crazy.

I am on the S/O ratcheting Kool Aid........Even I say F*ck and that in the same sentence. Way too much for that. It is a nice example of a clear one though!!!!!!

It could be the only one to exist.
:lol_hitti :bounce: :spit: Riiiight ... :rolleyes2

Where's the box/original packaging? I know a bit about collecting stuff and a decent amount of the value comes with having the original packaging - the better the condition of the packaging, the higher the value.

I don't know if this little rule holds true in the tool collecting world, but I assume that it does. I just asked the seller if they have the packaging; we shall see.

It is a cool driver and I'd love to have it, but as Robert said, it ain't $800 cool. :shocking:

As to packaging, back when these were sold, early to mid 90's, when you wanted something you just pulled it out of the overhead straps on the SO truck. I'd be surprised if the SO guy received them with a box. People used tools; didn't worship them.

Don't recall if you could even order by mail back then. If I recall there were still some branch distribution centers with counter service for walk-ins. Gone now....

What do you mean? He's throwing in the free shipping. :lol_hitti

LOL oh no your paying for it about 100 times.

and its hilarious when i first posted it, it only had 1 offer and now it has 6!!!! lollololol, and 3 were by the same person.

i dont see why people list **** like that for some ridiculous amount as a buy it now, i would start it out at .99 and keep a reserve on it, with a buy it now.
i would rather see that then just check my inbox everyday for some lowball offers

what is he thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:shocking::shocking::shocking::shocking::shocking:

He might have a buddy with the same thing who is about to sell one. If his buddy lists his for $400, it'll be a "deal" at half off. :lol:

A few years ago my wife created a website dedicated to her favorite author and listed each of his book. She also created a price guide with ranges of the least to most expensive prices she had seen. Pretty soon ALL of his books were selling for the HIGH end prices she had listed. Apparently she had created a price guide on accident. She has since shut down the site and now prices have gone back down. :beer:

No, twenty bucks IS reasonable. When they go much higher than that I'm not so sure. If it's purely a collectible tool, then the prices can go through the roof depending on rarity, condition, and how bad someone wants it for their collection. I have some collectible tools that cost me a few bucks because they're rare, etc. As far as their actual utility value, they're no better than any comparable tool that isn't nearly as rare. As for them being collectible, I paid fair market value, for utility, I grossly overpaid. I guess the same can be said for a ratcheting screwdriver. Since I'm not into snap on screwdrivers, it's really not worth more than twenty bucks to me. I only see it for it's utility value. I guess "collectors" see things differently.
