Well done 1/2 Cup!

The wine bottle triggered a wonderful flashback to my all too brief 2-year Sydney assignment. In addition to several winery crawls in the Hunter Valley I was fortunate to visit the Hardy's Tintara winery as part of a conference I attended in Adelaide. Because of that visit I bought a bottle of 1982 Hardy's Vintage Port when I came across it at a bottle shop in the states in 1992. They had no price sticker so when they told me it was $14.99 at checkout, I went back and took the other five bottles off the shelf (the chain had accidentally received a case of Vintage Port and didn't know what to do with it).

Over the past 22 years there have been five occasions important enough to enjoy a bottle. Not sure I'll ever open the last one.

Something you did not do in 1/2's . Well done. Congratulations.
I have to keep away from Reds. They do not agree with me either.
Thanks HOTFR8 I think it may have been food poisoning.;)
Congratulations on your technical support person of the year.

I read your thread and you have done a fantastic job on everything.

I can't wait till your old Ford is complete.

Many thanks ajohno, I will get the Carport/Storage Solution build out of the way as it will free up some room in the shed then I can get stuck into the Model A.

Congrats 1/2 Cup! That's fantastic!

Thanks for dropping by Bob, Hardy's make a nice drop and the Cab/Merlot was a Hardy's as well. That's a great score on the port, at a guess you would pay AU$40 - 50 per bottle if not more????.

Savour it next time you part take of one.:)

I think 1/2 has not surfaced yet today after his win. Those Reds have given him hell.

I have felt somewhat under the weather to day HOTFR8, I shifted a few trailer loads for Mrs 1/2 Cups sister to her new home this morning but pulled the pin around lunch time and came home and had a nana nap and something to eat, feeling a little better now.

On a brighter not I found a pair of "F"Garden State number plates at the old home so now they have a new home here.

Regards

Well done and Congrats.

Dunno about that red stuff tho ... does nasty things to me too,

... next year you might have to work a little harder - so you get something decent ... like a bottle of Scotch or Bundy .. ;);)

I wish your container supplier with the keen prices, was located about 10hrs further north,
... as I'd be tempted to replace all my recycled dogfood cans ..

And an obvious same to you guys from over here......

Congrats on the award as well, mine was a total surprise as well, which is good and bad. Though my current boss is an Aussie. And he seems to have more common sense than any in the last 10 years, unfortunately the team is changing so my job stays the same, but I get a new guy, English again, let's see how that works.

1/2cup family

I want to thank you for your continuing friendship and all the kind remarks and encouragements you have given me this past year. Congratulation on your award and it is for a "job well done". I wish you and yours the very best of 2015. (2015 sounds like a fantasy to an old guy like me!)

ALL THE BEST

Thank you, thank you guys once again.

I have until the 5th off work now, just pottering around the garden, lawns and running a few last minute errands for Mrs 1/2 Cup before tomorrow.

The family all get together at my sisters for Christmas lunch, fairly traditional by Aussie standards.

In the outdoor area, a few quiet ales, a feeding frenzie on the prawns and nibblies. Then a selection of roasts, cold meats, salads, baked veg and topped off with sweets if you can fit them in ( I always leave room ) for pudding, ice cream, pavalova and fruit salad.

It is looking like a fairly warm day here for Christmas so I will be looking for a shady tree to have a nana nap in the afternoon.

All the best..

Sounds like you have the day planned well. All the best for the season.

Mum ( who passed away 10 years ago ) taught us well and the family tradition lives on right down to her favourite lolly tray that is garnished with the same assortment of sweets year in year out in her memory and the baton is now being passed on to the next generation. Every one does what they have always done its just that engrained its easy and no stress on all.
We alternate homes each year to mix things up.

And likewise HOTFR8, all the best.

MERRY CHRISTMAS
Thank you for a great thread, I very much admire your workmanship....

Much appreciated Lwel9226, I am truly grateful that we have this great forum to share what we do and inspire others.

I have to say this and that is I don't always get it right and could do better at times but first and foremost I enjoy what I do.

I don't have all the latest and greatest nor a humungus shed but to quote Sean Buick I too make do with what I have.

Kind regards and all the best for the season..

That's a good tally for the year. I'm afraid to count my list, I don't think it will have near as many "Completed's". Enjoyed reading along this year. May your 2015 be even more productive.

I am looking forward to this week off work and its time to finish a number of projects that have been neglected over the past month or so as the Carport and Storage Solution has taken precedence.
Being so close to Christmas when I ordered the roofing iron, guttering and flashing it will not be delivered until the week of the 5th of January as the factory closes until then.
So first cab off the rank today will be completing the draws of the Fabrication bench. The bench has been a very handy addition to the shed thus far even without the draws being completed.

Basically all I have to do is to complete the draw chassis by adding another piece of stainless plate to the front of each draw which will allow me to align and fit the draw face panels that are finished the same as the side in fills as you see below.

That's an awesome fabrication table. Someday when I have more shop space that is an item I have high on my list of wants.

I've gone as far as collecting materials, drawing up a direct rip-off of this table, but unfortunately I have no place to put it.

Maybe some day.

Room is my biggest issue as well, the thing about it is having castors I can move it outside as I prefer working outdoors when the weather is ok.

I removed the draw cases this morning to finish them off and tack in the front pieces.

View media item 46304

It is amazing what a few hours of Quality Shed Time can produce.

After tacking up the draw cases and refitting them I aligned and installed the Brushed Stainless Draw facia panels and handles.

Yet another project done and dusted.

Have a great day and thanks for dropping by:thumbup:

Now, how do you remove finger prints from Stainless Steel???
