Buick: that was my memory not the Bush's, but i'm guessing they might not remember if you ask them. even if i live to be 100 and still can see my wife i wouldn't make 70 or 71 years. it took me too long to find my dream girl.

1/2: hope this week is a little better than last and maybe as much time as you spend on your TO DO list and work you won't have much time to reflect about IAN. just listen for him to whisper in your ear.

looks like you are set for your 40th next year with Mrs. 1/2 so now all you have to do is plan something fun.

BTW have the dogs got a busy schedule coming up since you have a house full of champions?
take care

Drives I have a fair bit on this week at work that will keep me occupied, everyone is looking after everyone. We have a great team for sure and that will continue on.

I had better start planning next year now for the 40th, a trip maybe??:headscrat

Mrs 1/2 Cup hasn't shown the pups for a month now as it is a bit of a summer hiatus here for shows as it is a little too hot now. They are keeping us on our toes that's for sure.

I spent yesterday morning in the garden before it got too hot then retreated to the shed and finished port matching the injector manifold to the MG F head so that it is now ready to be machined and have the oversized valves fitted.

We have made the call, seeing we have gone this far to get a forged set of con rods rather than use the originals.
My son had also purchased a set of second hand forged pistons that looked not too bad but on closer inspection he has agreed to get a new set of Omega forges pistons as well to compliment what he has done thus far. I am a lot happier now that he has made that call, I do not want to build a hand grenade.

Have a great day every one.

Congrats on your anniversary!
You don't see that many years so much anymore in marriages, in this day & age.

On another note, my condolences on the loss of your mentor & friend.

This came to me tonight. I've always admired your work. And when I saw you had a 39th anniversary, I was like wow, but had nothing significant to add. But then it dawned on me. This is your greatest work yet, being a good partner and choosing a mate well. As usual, well done sir.

, I will post a bit of an update later to day with pics.
The little rodents aren't so little any more, in fact they are just a little bigger than their mum and fairly radical to say the least.

Mrs 1/2 Cup will not be showing them till the weather cools down here in a month or so.

I never thought of it like that, a marriage that has stood the test of time, two sons that I can say I am truly proud of, two lovely daughter in laws and one grand son that is just the apple of our eyes.

Have a great day every one and thank you again.

Another update of what's been happening here over the last week with pics later today.

I have finally finished the MG F cylinder head, all I need to do is run it through the hot bath at work so the guides and valves can be installed.

I am guessing that about 40 hours has gone into the head to get it to this point.

Great progress on the head. Looks fantastic! I'm thinking of going deep with mine now that I'm looking at it. My understanding is that the best rebuild kits for the SD-33T come from Australia...

Thanks Coop

The SD-33T is a very popular out here and there is heaps of them around the traps.

With the exchange rate as it is now it may be worth you while looking out here for your rebuild kit.

Regards

Pups look good! Nice work on the head, looks time consuming but rewarding. Id love to build a crazy na motor one day

More pics of shelby :eyecrazy: i got a soft spot for sheps

Thank you Kenfab, I have enjoyed working on the head as time consuming as it has been. I cant wait to see it all come together and hit the key for the first time.

Shelby - Our Belgium Shepherd, loves the shed but has a tendency to relocate tools and things like grease rags, sand paper go missing, often to be found discreetly buried in the garden.

Those pups sure have grown up and still look like trouble. How does Shelby deal with them?

HOTFR8 The little rodents tend to stir Shelby up, we keep them separated all the time otherwise it becomes a bark fest.

Disruptive? Looks like she is just wanting to help clean ;-)

BF, once she gets hold of some thing it can be difficult to get it off her and then it becomes a game, turning her back on you more or less saying Make my day and get it if you can.

Have a great day everyone.

NOTHING better than a loyal, loving dog at your side.

Still missing my Sooner (avatar) VERY badly. I "talk" to him everyday still.
I just bought a blonde Lab decal for HIS truck's rear window, his '08 Chevy Crew Dually!

Thanks guys.

We love Shelby to bits.

Dan, the passing of a dog like Sooner is like loosing a member of the family and can truly relate to what you have been through. I remember when you lost him.

Regards and have a great day.

Thank you Kenfab.

I am not sure what it is about cable ties but our little rodents chew on them like there is no tomorrow. Shelby can't reach mine in the shed fortunately.;)

Have a great day every one.

1/2 cup,

Thought you'd have an appreciation for my nieces little pup:

O6sT

She's a 1 yr old, and full of energy!

I thought it was a great pic of her in the snow.

1/2: nothing like a little shiny new bling coming to your door in a box to put a smile on your face. I'm still watching because i don't have a clue how to build or re build an engine, but love watching.

i'm guessing any of those pictures of Shelby could be your Avatar? it's been since 2008 since we had a dog and maybe it's time to have another one. our daughter drops off Zeek for a week or last time for 2 months while her and her husband travel across the globe. his tongue is almost as long as Shelby's and hope you don't mind me posting a picture that was my avitar before i changed to the bison made from old tools and steel scraps.

Too funny you call the 100% pure bred dogs that are national champs RODENTS. Cute as heck and probably have plenty of ***** to keep you and Mrs. 1/2 busy.

all the best of luck with the engine

Those pistons and rods make me drool too, they are just fancy! It is a shame you will be putting them in the engine were they will hopefully never be seen again.

Got the cooler running in the shed today I guess. Specially whilst you open those parts boxes.

HOTFR8 It was a little warm here, cracking the 40 C odd but it is nice having air in the shed I can assure you.

Drives, I will post pics as I progress with the build as they are a very different engine to what I am used to.

I am guessing its about time I updated my Avatar and you are right Shelby would make a great one. Not at all post away. They are great company and you should get another for sure.

The Rodents, as cute as they are, just get up to mischief all the time and are into every thing:

Digging multiple divots in the front lawn just because.
Chewing my water sprayer as you do.
Chewed the corners of the mud flaps on my trailer, not happy.
Chewed the leads of our garden lights
Chewed the fixed sprinkler heads.
Eat and distribute the garden chipped wood mulch.
Cut through the charger lead for our phone.
Chewed several drawer handles.
When they are inside we have to push our chairs in other wise the find there way up on our family room table.
Break the lower branches of particular small shrubs they have taken a liking to.
Annoy the heck out of Shelby.

So they keep us on our toes:thumbup:

jbmatth, they are a work of art for sure, I will be taking heaps of pictures to remember them by as I really do not want to see them again either.

1/2: i knew RODENTS was an endearing name you picked for them for a reason. :bounce:

GEESH no wonder the one peaking out from the shrub had that mischievous look on his face.
