Hi Steve,

They did pluck some polyps out of my insides and those have been sent to pathology.

Seems it takes two weeks for results to come, through.

Bobby thank you:thumbup:

You are spot on there and now that I have had a chance to reflect on the results it HUGE.

Great news very glad to hear

Dwight

Dwight it most certainly is.

1/2: are you done with Immunotherapy now that you've got the ALL CLEAR or did you say you'll still be getting treatments to keep preventing further issues?

are you back to a full workweek or did you and your boss agree a solid 3 day work week would provide you enough QST?

cheers from the smokey PNW

Finally caught myself up with the thread, Good to see your doing well! Really liked the bench grinder and cold saw restos! They came up a million bucks!

Ken thank you:thumbup:

I am ticking along nicely at the moment.

Both the grinder and cold saw did come up pretty well IMHO anyway.

Drives my Immunotherapy is still a ways of being complete even though my lungs are clear I still have the lymph nodes to be cleared. The tumours that are left are not growing and some are still reducing in size.

I am of the understanding that I may finish the Immunotherapy if my next scans are good.:headscrat

Understanding that the Immunotherapy will continue to work inside me for at least six to twelve months after I finish treatment.

The official all clear is 5 years after treatment if all goes well.

I am still working full time but I start early and finish early which at this point in time fits in well.
As much as I would like to retire..

one of my favourite things to do is simply putting things away in the shed, real sense of accomplishment when done. Relaxes me all the way.

Terrick yep you are spot on and I too feel great about it as well although there is still some areas that I need to concentrate on but I will get there.

Thank you one and all for your visits, have a great day.

1/2: all of a sudden a LIGHT BULB in my brain turned on and I finally figured out that Immunotherapy is maybe another option to CHEEMO. yes, or is Immunotherapy used only on certain types of CANCER?

if you'd like to say why you chose that method either here on your thread or on the GET HEALTHY THREAD I'd love to here the reasoning cause it seems to be working nicely. here's a link for you and others that might want to comment cause I bet most of us know somebody that has or had CANCER.

https://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=298568

still saying prayers you get this stuff gone and behind you soon. it's also good to hear you and your boss at work are on the same page about your work hours.

cheers

That is close to Roy Underhill's (aka Woodwright) advice when you have trouble and get frustrated do something you can, like sharpen your chisels and oil your planes. It may not help but you'll always have sharp chisels and well oiled planes. Tidying up fills the bill for me (YES I DO TIDY UP!!) I think because I can succeed at it and like the results so it's a great sense of accomplishment.

Drives you are right Immunotherapy, Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy are just a few of the treatment options available out there at the moment. Immunotherapy is used to build your bodies immune system so that it can mop up any residual cancer cells floating around after the Chemo or Radiation. As I understand it Immunotherapy may not be suitable for all types of Cancer.

In saying that each of those treatment options have a myriad of different dosage rates and specific types available for the Oncologist to use.
Every Cancer sufferer is also different, so what works with one may or may not work with another sadly.

When I was first diagnosed I could only go with the best advise given by my Oncologist at the time with the treatment options being fairly limited to both Chemotherapy and Radiation fortunately it was the right one as has the decision to follow up with the Immunotherapy and all I did was sign on the bottom line.

At this point in time I have not felt the need to seek alternative therapies due to how successful the treatment has been thus far.
I do feel well in myself now that I have gotten the side effects under control this week.
Plus everyone's thoughts and prayers I believe have contributed to where I am at now.

Thank you yet again:thumbup:

Andy funnily enough I do exactly that and it is a wonderful feeling to close your shop door at night knowing that every thing is cleaned, in its place and ready to go the next day.

As you say its a great sense of accomplishment..:thumbup:

Ditto Andy and Steve; I succeed in the wood shop but the machine shop not so much; always seems to be shavings around; but I guess that's a good thing? Walking into a shop that's not working is only a wonderful feeling when you are well! A mess looks a whole lot better to the man who has just walked away from his own overhaul and has left the shop for the first time in weeks. To him, it looks like someone who's just been slapped!

Ok, 1/2 Cup your country was seriously under represented here at Bonneville. I did manage to find a good Aussie beverage out here.
IMG_3017.jpg

But, the Kiwi's were here in force and I was looking for more Australians to represent. So I'm thinking with your engine building skills and your son's race car stable, you two guys could put together one heck of a father-son team. You have a year so get busy and get to the salt! i will meet you there and offer my meager services as crew.

1/2 & ALL: that Ginger Beer is a family favorite if one of my kids is making MOSCOW MULES. they are a bit too sweet even for my sweet tooth, but they really pack a punch for a lightweight like I am now.

hope you are enjoying your weekend Down Under!!

It was pretty sweet but good flavor and I only allow myself an occasional soft drink like that any more. I actually found it in a gas station store in the middle of Wyoming which I thought was a funny place for this to be stocked. Enjoyed it greatly and will have to watch out for the other flavors.

Somehow I missed recognizing the Aussie vehicles but am so impressed when folks travel so far for something like this. It gets hard at times to keep up with the announcers as there is no PA system. You need an FM radio tuned to specific station numbers and my radio batteries were dead my first day there.
I hope they got some new records to take home with them. From what I heard said around the place it was a pretty lightly attended overall year. Not sure why as the salt was in good shape and they had 4 courses running until Thursday and today. But even so, the competition and quality of vehicles was amazing.

Well for now just run the race to get healthy and keep this trip on your list. It is a good time for anyone loving the creative spirit and the need for speed.

If you searched you should have found plenty of Aussies at Bonneville as we had plenty of apologies at the D.L.R.A. meeting last weekend. See a post in Sheddwellers). The last Lake Gairdner event was a busy place here and the salt surface 100% on Bonneville. https://www.dlra.org.au/

Again look for the Lemon Lime and Bitters.

Oh, 1/2 perhaps we should make a trip to Gairdner in 2019.

Our last D.L.R.A. news letter had a story about a US team that came here. A massive exercise.

Drives I do like a ginger beer but never tried a Moscow Mule, It would have some kick.

Its a bit cold, wet and windy here this weekend I have just been pottering in the Shed pretty much.

Bundy GB has roughly 2 1/2 times the calorie content of an equivalent size full strength beer....enjoy in moderation.

Ralf99 enjoy in moderation is right..

Bob finding it in the middle of Wyoming is incredible, I haven't had a ginger beer in years.

Its a shame your batteries went flat.
How many competitors and spectators would they typically get?
From what I have seen of the event it wold be pretty awesome to be there.:3gears::3gears:

Being my first time there I was soaking in info as fast as possible and still learning where things are and how to identify teams and the people involved.
I have not seen published attendance figures yet but some folks were saying it was down from last year and not sure why as the salt conditions were pretty good. Given that I could not get there until Tuesday of this week I think I missed a lot of the competition. I would guess the competitors were in the hundreds and the fans a few thousand any given day. But things are so spread out it's hard to say. I guess the first Saturday and Sunday were very busy so maybe more people those days. It did start to taper off as the week went on but then a few new cars and bikes showed up late in the week.
I will have to read up more on Lake Gairdner as it sounds like another awesome place for Land Speed racing.

Whilst we have 1/2's topic off topic I have just read on the D.L.R.A forum that 5 vehicles exceeded 400 MPH at Bonneville. As for Lake Gairdner it is unique due to the fact it is closer to see level than Bonneville. Access is just not the same either and the facilities near Gairder are very different to Bonneville. We actually have a Camp that belongs ro the D.L.R.A. and the next best accomodation is the Shearers quarters at Mt Ive Station.

OK, Back on topic I am sure 1/2 is like me today bunkered down in the shed as our weather forcast is cold, wet, windy with snow in a few places (south of me) and hail storms also forcast as well. A good day for doing very little or at least doing something in a warm place.

Redwolf947 All is well.

Just read HOTFR8's link to Lake Gairdner and the US team that traveled there. Thank you, it was very interesting! Totally different experience as to accessibility and services available , besides the altitude, to make it a considerable effort to compete there for anyone. Never been to Speed Weeks, but have driven out on the salt while passing through on the Interstate. At least Lake Gairdner doesn't appear to be threatened by surface mining for minerals like Bonneville. Sorry for the hijack

Best wishes on the bloods and immunotherapy, 1/2!

My wife's nightly drink is a dark and stormy - Kraken spiced rum, Bundy Ginger Beer, lime, and mint. We've even got a lime tree and mint plant, so it's always fresh and on hand.

I am thinking I need to talk 1/2 into a road trip. The experience is just so different to what many would expect.

Sounds like a nice drink. Lemonaide with either Lemon or Lime juice is nice.
I often have a bottle of Coca Cola in the fridge in the shed with a small bottle of lime juice to add when I have a drink. Now that is interesting you mention that as 1/2 and I spoke recently about what you drink when you are not feeling well and how your taste buds change with medical treatment. That would have been when I called to see him some months ago.

HOTFR8 a couple of road trips should be on the cards.:3gears:

It was HOTFR8 my taste buds have changed a lot following the Chemotherapy, Radiation and Immunotherapy. I can manage a beer like Crown Larger with the others being to bitter for me.

https://www.crownlager.com.au/

Funnily enough I still can't drink water straight and I must have some cordial or lemon with it. Coffee and tea I still can't take to yet either and I used to e a big coffee drinker. My drink of choice now is Lemonade.
I still have not tried a Red Wine as yet.

Thanks gentlemen, have a great day.

Now you have made me thirsty.
