You all are just the best,
Dads send off was beyond expectation, at the private grave side service I arranged a formation fly over, and wake/celebration was fantastic I didn't end up in a ball of mush n it all went so well.
The church family yet again appreciates your support, prayers, thoughts. Too not only us as a family but The broader GJ community globally.

Hi Andrew, thanks for the update, glad it all went as planned.
It can be a real struggle to organize a wake/celebration, trying to do what you need to do but also trying to do things the way your dad would do and like, ultimately though if your family thought it was great you have all done well.

On another note, how frustrating is this! I go to the trouble of uploading a small QST Icon for all to use and I cant get it to work in my one post.
I have tried many times since last night, finally looked at the overall size and it was just over 20kb which apparently is too big, so I reduced it in size a bit and it finally worked, Yay!!
So if anyone else is having problems loading up the icon into their signature line please let me know and I will upload a smaller one.

And last but not least, opening up new pages isnt it great to see all of the bright yellow and black Quality Shed Time logos

gazza - I would be interested in a sticker or two or three shipped up here.

I have a few clocked screw pictures that will make their way into this thread sometime. I didn't even know that was a thing until I saw it in 1/2 Cups thread. Now I can't stop doing it. That's a habit that will stick with me forever thanks to him

No Problems, feel free to send me a private message. Would you be able to post on some stickers to others over there if required?
cheers
Gazza

Thank you for taking the time to post.

Your dad's friends online are searching for ways to honor him. There are many more than any of us realized, I believe. Yet he took time for me.

I don't post very much, but have been a fan of 1/2 cup since shortly after I joined. I am not sure how I missed this sad news, but just wanted to say that he will be missed and I am better for having been introduced to him through the Garage Journal.

1/2 Cup is one of the biggest reasons I joined this site. I tend to lurk, and there are a lot of sites that I browse; often I find someone has asked the question I had in mind, so I never join.

I stumbled across GJ a few years ago, and would periodically come back and look for an answer to a question I had. But one day I went into the Garage Gallery and into the thread entitled "A Shed Downunder". I laughed and laughed, and then kept reading - I think almost all night. I didn't know his full name until after he left us, but I have fond feeling for Steve Church and all the humor and goodwill that he added to this site.

Gazza,

This is a beautiful thing you have done for a very fine man! I too would love a few stickers.

Thanks!

I’d have a sticker or 3 too if you do them (I’ll contribute to the cost of course).

All

Steve’s daughter in law, Amy, has sent me 2 video tributes to Steve from yesterday’s gathering. I am about to go out, so will put them up later. I’ve seen one and couldn’t stop the tears.....

Great tribute Simon.

Thanks Guys. As I said it did take me some time to compose myself and get it all together. I still struggle with what I posted now one week ago.

A flyover would be a great tribute. When we last spoke I had a sense you had it all together.

Andrew,
Thank you for the links to the two videos. I appreciated what little I knew of your father.

I sure would. Send a pallet of them over and I'll ship a few to everyone that wants one.

Andrew - Glad to hear how the day went. Now that the worst is behind you it is time to start remembering your Dad for who he was when he was at his best and often times who he was at his oddest. I find that is how I remember people that have come and gone, it's not how they look or act it's the odd-ball things they do that stick with me. The memories that make me smile for no apparent reason are the ones I cherish most.

And in memory of our good friend, after spending some QST putting lower ball joints in my wife's Trailblazer, I lifted a bottle of my poison of choice in his honor. Here's to you 1/2Cup.

My Quality Shed time today, the first print run of QST stickers. After they dry for a day or so they get a clear laminate overlay for protection then back into the printer to get cut out.
Will be ready to start posting them out later in the week.
I have 3 members offer of help to distribute these across the US which is great, easier to spread the distribution a bit, many thanks Guys.
Anyone available to help from Canada?
cheers

Gazza I know I asked for a few and I have been asked for more so if possible please.

I wonder what our mate 1/2 would make of all this now ?
My guess is it would be fuss over nothing for him.

EDIT: We need a bigger picture.

I have also been having a conversation with Ryan about changing the status listing for 1/2 Cup away from Moderator to something more suitable. MEMBER EMERITUS has been talked about amongst the Mods about those Forum members we have lost. It is not something that will happen over night as it means the forum has to have a new user group added.

It would seem Moderator Emeritus could be suitable for some.

My QST today was, what else, foundry work. Sanding gear patterns and making a new flask.

And I tipped one to Steve but didn't think to photograph.
